Go to and download defraggler and ccleaner. Install and run them, first ccleaner cleanup and registry fix and then defraggler. This will help tom speed up mthe pc, then do a scandisk (part of windows in the 'my computer' right click on the c: drive, click tools and then 'error checking check now'. Put a tick into both the request boxes, say yes to scandisk on re-start. Restart your computer and leave it alone until the computer restarts. Could be a while! Patience! nThat should do it!

Hello, I need help, I bought a My Book at the Walmart store today and I just wanted more memory so my computer would run faster. Now I have this Memo Auto Sync and Memo Auto Backup going in the back...

If you were wanting more memory to make your computer run faster, you didn't need a hard drive, you needed more RAM (random access memory), which comes in the form of long, slender cards that plug into the motherboard. You'll have to shut your system down, unplug it, open the case, locate the memory cards, read what's on the stickers on them, then get more of the same. If you've got a BestBuy, or Staples, or OfficeMax, or some other store that offers in store service and installation, you'll do yourself a real service by letting them do it. If you don't know what you're doing, you can really screw things up.

Alternately, you can access some decent how-to videos on youtube.

An external hard drive will give you a place to store seldom accessed stuff, or backups, but it's way too slow for regular use, and has little or nothing to do with speeding your computer up.

Computer very slow ,won't print, forever to load pages, have corrupted files

Several things can slow down the computer: overheating, spyware, not enough RAM etc. If you know for sure you have corrupted files were they corrupted by a virus? You may need to reinstall Vista.

Is it slow when you boot up in safe mode? To boot into safe mode hit (usually) F8 while it is booting up. Let it completely boot into safe mode and then reboot again. Now is if it is behaving better.

To get rid of spyware download the free Spybot Search & Destroy from the net, run the update and then run it to dectect and get rid of the spyware. Spyware tries to send info which can slow down everything.

Overheating - does it feel hot? Is the fan running and pushing air?

If it worked fine before it is unlikely you don't have enough RAM. Windows itself needs at least 256mbs to run well without running other problems.

Again if you know files are corrupted, if they are windows files, you might need to reinstall vista.

How do i cancel an email i just sent

Cancelling email you just send is not very easy as there is no option provided to cancel your send email....
but you may be interested in going other way around. Just plug out your lan wire if ur on lan or if you are using broadband then take out the connection as fast as you can. What happens here is that your router will take sometime sending your packet to other router and if your are really fast in taking out your connection you may get a chance to cancel your email you just send. But be very fast or you left with no other option.

Send/receive gets stuck at 0% complete and keeps chugging away with not action.

OK. So I need more information. 1st what are you trying to do? As I was trying to understand in my previous question send / receive is a status bar that indicates the progress made in transferring files across a network (or the Internet). In the case of really large files the Progress bar may move slowly if your connection is slow. As well the computer or site you are trying to connect to may be slow or unavailable.

So we know that you are using Vista and that's good information. So lets answer the following.

1. What are you trying to do?
2. What Other program are you using when the send receive message is displayed?
3. Can you browse the internet now otherwise?

First thing that you can do to speed up a computer is to make sure your computer is clean from virus, malware, spyware , trojan because they can slow down your system , so first of all use a good anti virus and anti malware software like Malwarebytes to scan your computer and then after that remove some unnecessary program on your compuer to free up some Memory and the last thing to do is to add a RAM to your computer that will really make it fast...

Problem in scanned images uploading

If you have 50 units of computer working the same time such as uploading big files, the problem for the rest among your 7 computers that work fast is between the hub connectors on the network system. You can check this connectors by replacing those slow ones to that faster computers.
Then if your faster computers slow down and the replaced connectors from slow working bacomes fast then the problem is in your hub distribution connectors.
If you had trace to that problem, then replace the whole unit of hub connectors.
