HI The backplane lamps, and or the backplane power supply is probably starting to fail. This is common in LCD sets.

In some models, the backplane parts are replaceable. In other's the complete display has to be changed.

Call the factory service rep in your area to arrange to send them the set for an estimate to service it.

Yes it can certainly be repaired, the problem is most likely on the LCD screen or its backlight, if it problem is the lcd screen or its backlight you may be able to replace the backlight or you might need to replace the whole lcd screen, but note that the problem may also be on the sourse / the controller of the lcd display or the main board on the radio some components may be failing possibly capasitors leaking or failing it needs to be looked at, can't say over the internet.

Jensen 9314 lcd repair. Can this be done. the screen got damaged the outer screen is ok but it looks like it shattered internally, a very small part of the screen shows

It can probably be repaired, but you will more than likely have to send it to Audiovox to get it repaired. Audiovox owns Jensen. You can get a hold of them at

My screen is real dim I can't see anything unless I put it direct sunlight what the problem

It sounds like it is a backlight problem on the LCD Screen. You will have to get it repaired by a qualified technician or return it under warranty.

Sony LCD TV has Dark Picture

Hi there,

the problem is not the lamp.

This model has a set of two backlight lamps, and it is practically impossible that both lamps go faulty at the same time.

When the backlight lap in an LCD TV goes off in this way, the faulty part is always the backlight inverter, that is the high voltage board powering the lamp.

In your case you have to get the TV inverter booard replaced.

The screen on my Audiovox FP1510 has gone dark

Yes, there are 4 backlight lamps but it seems you have a problem with the circuit, called inverter, that controls those lamps. m@nt

Audiovox D1812 disc loads & plays but VERY dim screen

Sounds like the backlight isn't working, could be the flourescent tube or the inverter that powers it. At least those are the likely suspects in other LCD monitors that have similar problems.

Fatal error, unable to open application database

Have you tried the reset button? It would be found on the lower right side on the rear panel. Don't really know if this will fix your particular problem, but it might be worth a shot.

Look on ebay, if you still see the video, then it is just the backlight that is broken. Put in your model and add the word parts to your search. Be sure to read if the parts one you are buying has a working backlight.

AUDIOVOX VE1020 has audio, but no video

Ok, here is a bizarro solution that just worked for me. It is a solution to the problem, not a technical fix.
1 Turn unit on
2 Using remote control unit press "DVD" button, upper left.
(When I did this the Audiovox screen appeared)
3 Then using remote control unit press "TV" button, upper left next to DVD button.
(For my unit, this gave me a TV picture)

Strange, huh?
