Question about Teac Audio & Video Receivers

5 Answers

I have a TEAC AG-500 Stereo Receiver (with cassette & CD players). The sound stopped coming out one of the speakers - so I checked the connections etc. When I switched on had no sound from either speaker. Some days later switched on again and got sound back from the one speaker - tried other speaker connections again. You guessed - when I swithed back on - nothing. Makes me think the problem is with the reciever. Can you help please. Thanks. Eamon

    I have checked the connections several times already. Can't quite see how it could be wire quality as I have had sound out of one speaker. The Teac receiver has had a few faults previously that needed repair - that's why I think the problem lies there. Thanks.

Try connecting the reciver to different set.

If it does not work the receiveris faulty.

    Did you try connecting the reciver to different set, and using different cables.

    If the receiver does not work it is definitively faulty, then we can find out what the problem is, or find out the best way to get assistance,.

    Let me know how it goes.

Why does my Teac ag h500 keep saying protect?

Hi. Unfortunately the protection circuit is saving your speakers from a fault, most likely one side of the amplifier in the unit is defective.

This needs an engineer.

Teac AG-V3050. Everything looks right but puts out no sound to speakers. Have trien many speakers. Is there a fuse, reset, etc? Thanks

I nce had the relay for the amplifier die on one of my receiver. Basically this will allow the amp to power on and supply voltage to the speakers. Same thing though, i could access all of the menus, adjust setting, and volume but no sound because the amp never clicked on.

SX-1600 + KD-491F

Appreciate the additional information.

To recap what you need is a receiver that can accommodate:
4 - Pioneer S-DF1-K (15-100W, 8 ohms)
1 - Pioneer PD-F407 25 Disc CD Player
1 - Pioneer CT-300 dual tape deck
1 - Kenwood KD-491F turntable

Possible choices are (keeping in mind that the power output should be less if not equal to 100 watts and a turntable/phono input):
i. Onkyo TX-8522 Stereo Receiver;
ii. Yamaha RX-397 100 Watt Natural Sound AM/FM Stereo Receiver;
iii. Sony STR DE695 AV receiver;
iv. Teac AG-790 200 Watt Stereo Receiver;
v. Denon AVR 888 - AV receiver - 7.1 channel.

Some of the above also includes feature(s) to hook up to your video system. Some may even require a fifth speaker (subwoofer).

Incidentally, you can also choose another brand/model even without a turntable/phono input. As initially posted, a turntable/phone to line level pre-amplifier is only required. Here are some examples:
a. XP200 Turntable Preamp - Nano Series;
b. Pyle® Pro PP999 Phono Preamplifier;
c. Pro-Ject Phono Box Turntable Preamplifier;
d. Radial J33 RIAA Turntable Preamp Direct Box

Good luck with your project.

Connecting An Equalizer

you will need 6 equalizers or 3 stereo equalizers.

connect the 5.1 analogue outputs of your media player (DVD Player) to the equalizer and then connect the analogue output of the equalizer to the AVR.

now you can equaize the sound for extra boost and cut.

Warning: it is not recomended to do so unless you have a powerful amp and high quality and higher wattage speakers, as equalizers are ment to be used mainly for entertianment zones and outdoors in professional applications.
the home speakers annd electronics are not really capable of taking such electronic stress as they are designed to work indoors in a confined space.
but if you are confident go ahed.
