Run some Malware & Spyware Software, that's most probably the cause, of the slowdown unless your Hard Drive's full of programs/music etc, etc.

I Recommend you Use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Scanner and
Spybot Search & Destroy to sort out your problems.

Hi Big Bad Bob, and welcome to FixYa,

you computer is "dirty", clean, and feel the difference:

Uninstall all unwanted software:
To uninstall software
Click on Start
à Settings à Control Panel à Add/Remove Programs
Select the software (one at the time) from the list and click on the Add/Remove button and follow the online screen instructions.

Erase unnecessary files in the windows temp folder.
Double Click My Computer.
Double Click the drive where windows are installed. This is typically drive C.
Double Click the windows folder. This is typically C:\Windows.
Double Click the temp folder. This is typically C:\Windows\temp.
Press control A to select all files and folders.
Press the delete key.
If confirmation is asked to delete these files choose yes to all.

Defragment hard disk.
Close all applications.
Disable your screen saver.
Disable all the programs on the taskbar if possible.
Click Start.
Click Program.
Click Accessories.
Click System Tools.
Click Defrag.
Select the drive to defrag.

You should defrag every hard disk on your system.
This process can take quite some time.
Click Ok.
Enable your screen saver.

Remove Startup programs (if you know what you are doing)
Click Start
Select Run
Type msconfig in the text box
The "System Configuration Utility" window will open

A list of programs will be shown each having a checkbox to the left of the name.
Click on the checkbox to enable the program (so it runs when windows boots) and click a second time to Uncheck the box to disable the program (so it does not run when windows boots).

Set the size of the virtual memory (swap file) to a constant optimal size.
Right click My Computer
Click Properties
The System Properties window lists the amount of RAM in your PC
Click Performance
Click Virtual Memory
Click Let me specify my own virtual memory settings
Click the arrow next to the hard disk.
Here are some guidelines to choose the best location for your virtual memory file
a) Select the quickest hard disk.
b) If you have, two hard disks that are similar in performance select the hard disk that does not contain Windows system files (usually C:).
c) Make sure the drive has free space equal to at least twice the size of the recommended swap file size.
d) If the partition is on the same physical drive, select the partition in alphabetical order. For example, if you have one 20GB hard disk and you partition it into two 10GB partitions drive C & D) You should pick Drive C over Drive D if meets all the guidelines of a, b & c.

Set the Minimum/Maximum to: With large hard disks settings at least 128mb or 256mb swap file should be sufficient in almost every situation.
Note: The amount of RAM plus the size of the virtual memory file is the maximum amount of RAM you can use at once.
Click OK.
After setting the size of the virtual memory file windows will display the following message. You have chosen not to let windows manage virtual memory automatically.
Click Yes.
You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?

Click Yes

regards

Running slow

There are lots of little things that slow down a computer, mostly it is programs that are running, but day to day clutter can slow your computer down too. A good thing to try is to download a good program like Ccleaner or Reginout. I personally Use Reginout because i don't believe on free products. It will analyze your computer, and clean up all that it can safely clean, inducing your registry.
It works well, and is 100% reliable.

Hey, ever since my system upgraded to explorer 9, it has been really slow, why is it doing this, i just bought my computer a week ago and i dont download anything, so what would be the reason for it...

If you are on a router with other computers if someone else is using Torrents it will slow down all the computers on the network even if you are not downloading anything will slow it down, Explorer 9 go to control panel then add remove programmes and un-install it. before you un-install explorer 9 make sure you download google chrome by using this link www.google.com/chrome as its faster than most browsers out there and will speed up your computer too.

My hp pavilion a800n's fan won't turn off

It is possible that your computer is simply overheating causing it to slow down. There are a few ways to check this. Enter the BIOS and go to the hardware monitor, what temperatures does the computer read both for the CPU and the Motherboard? Another option is to install and run a program called HWmonitor that can be found here. Report back when you can.

Problem in scanned images uploading

If you have 50 units of computer working the same time such as uploading big files, the problem for the rest among your 7 computers that work fast is between the hub connectors on the network system. You can check this connectors by replacing those slow ones to that faster computers.
Then if your faster computers slow down and the replaced connectors from slow working bacomes fast then the problem is in your hub distribution connectors.
If you had trace to that problem, then replace the whole unit of hub connectors.

Slow slow slows down my computer!!

Normal 0 There are a number of things that can cause the computer or the camera to freeze up or slow down.
First I’d check to see how much memory is installed in the computer. It takes additional memory to operate the camera.
Hope this helps. Bud
