The monitor turns on, flickers then goes black

Yep, Samsung 225bw. I've got 2. One (the older of the 2) when completely powered off, will often flicker, then go black (starting on the left side). I got it to work and then left it going for several months. No problems, but I've recently moved, and haven't gotten it to stick on this time.

My samsung syncmaster 73nw,when i turn it on i can use it well but aftr 5 minutes the m0nitor turns off, and aftr 3 mins it turns on,can u pls tell me whats wr0ng with my m0nitor?

You have bad Capacitors on the power inverter section; These 1000 uF 10V& 470uF 16V Caps will function half blown. As soon as they warm up the Cap either opens or shorts and takes down the power inverter. The venting on this monitor is very poor; To verify take a fan and place it behind the monitor, then try it again. If the monitor runs longer you have verified your problem. TCC

My husbands monitor keeps switching off

I had this exact same problem. The monitor kept switching off shortly after turning it on. I found a shorted capacitor (1000uF 10V) in the power supply. Replaced that and now it works fine.

Screen comes on gray with bars and then turns white. after several reboots it works.

the fault is that your monitor gets to work after the set gets warm.so the possibilitty that some components are thermally related is to be found out.
Open the monitor and use a hair dryer to warm the sections , power supply and drives, then switch on. repeat to other areas till the monitor works fine.
Now if you have a freeze it spray use it on to cool instantly. Now see if the fault comes back. If so the component can be isolated.
Look our for dry soldder joints in the board , loose connection, dry IC pins. Also check if some electrolytic capacitors can be large or small values in power supply and drivers to be faulty.

Monitor brighness shuts off

It sounds like the backlight circuits are not working, it can be due to bad power supply.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Acer monitor AL1706 Power On problem

You are more likely to have bad capacitors problem in the power supply, inverter circuits. I would look for bad caps first. Look at some of the sample here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Monitor will not turn on including power switch

I suspect the power supply for the monitor. Try a power supply from a working monitor. If you have a used computer store nearby, take your power supply to them and try it on another monitor.

There is no need to turn off a monitor using its power switch. Monitors automatically go into standby mode when they are not receiving a signal. In standby mode they use less than one cent of electricity per day. If saving electricity is your goal, raise the temperature in your home by a degree and run the air conditioning less.

Dell E151FPb 15" LCD with power LED blinking.

The problem may be a loose connection. When I turn on my monitor, the green light blinks and a flickering white screen appears for a brief second every time. There must be a loose connection on the power board which may be causing this. The easiest solution is to tap at the back of the monitor. This will reconnect the loose end and the monitor will work fine until it gets disconnected again. I will open my monitor soon to find the real problem. But it will take some time to find it.
