China's Lightest Aluminum Alloy Subway Train Is in Operation

According to The Xinhua News Agency, Changchun metro line 1 was officially in trial operation on June 30, and the subway train named "Little Snow Leopard" began to carry passengers. This new red and white subway train can not only "endure" low temperature of minus 35 degrees Celsius, but also is the lightest aluminum alloy die casting subway train in China now.Design manager of CRRC Corporation Limited whose name is Huixue Xu said that "Little Snow Leopard" adopts various cold resistance and antifreezing technologies, doors and window glasses filled with argon and outer window glasses coated with insulation films; cavities of aluminum profiles subway train body have heat insulators; there are Insulation materials between the subway train body's structure and passenger rooms; coupled with electric heating devices under the seats, it is warm in the subway train in winter, just like in spring."Little Snow Leopard" is not only cold resistant, but also has a very light subway train body, which can effectively reduce its traction energy consumption. The energy consumption of air conditioning system can also be greatly reduced because of adopting high-performance heat insulation design, frequency conversion and heat pump technologies. The energy of the subway train can also be sent back to the power grid to be reused and reduce energy loss. "Little Snow Leopard" is fully made of environmentally friendly and recycled materials, and most of the internal metal parts of the subway train can be recycled. When it comes to the safety of the subway train, "Little Snow Leopard" can reach the highest standard of the current domestic subway trains. It is equipped with coupler buffer, anticreeper devices, etc., utilizes upgraded system technologies and had gone through system and rainfall tests before delivery. Huixue Xu said that "Little Snow Leopard" can ensure passengers' safety when a crash happens in the relative speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

Does using dimmers increase power consumption?

No, I don't know from where you got the idea. Dimmers are actually used to reduce power consumption and thereby being energy efficient. Dimmers actually take advantage of the AC current flowing to it and will rapidly switch on and off the current. This happens so fast that you won't recognize power being on and off. This way dimmer switches save power. But to get the real benefit of a dimmer you must change from incandescent lights to CFL. You can actually expect to save about 25-40% of the energy normally used if you dim the bulb to 50% brightness.

it is about average for energy consumption
the sticker only means that the current draw has been tested and is accurate
energy efficiency depends heavily on the user and the environment
pulled drapes, doors closed ,draft strip under doors, temp, setting at 25C all reduce the time that the compressor is running so it becomes energy efficient

Not much said about the details of Crowley's energy reduction venture. This is an ad for the man, not his business. Not to say he is not an interesting guy. But the good news he brings to an energy-strapped globe might just be what we need to make us more conscious about saving the environment.

What is the energy consumption in WATTS for my Samsung RT45M/RT41M/RT45E/RT41E Refrigerator? It is not listed in the manual

Thanks for the opportunity to answer your question.
There are many factors that will come into play in determining the actual energy consumption of your fridge.
These items include and are not limited to, How often it's opened (freezer especially), Where it sits in the house, does the sun shine on it? Does it have proper space for ventilation behind it and around it.
How full the fridge is and what you place in it.
The average consumption in Wattage on this fridge is 1200watts while running.
So to figure your yearly cost you will need to know how many times the fridge runs per day and how long it's running. You can then average that time over a month.
Usually you are only going to spend about 60-120 dollars per year to run the fridge if it's inside and used or opened about 10 times a day.
A good idea is to use empty plastic containers in your fridge where you have large empty spaces. This will reduce the amount of space in the fridge that it has to cool and will improve the cooling.

Which setting on an Energy Miser saves energy?

OFF is the Energy Saver mode.

To reduce moisture, there is a heater around the door seal that stays turned on, using energy. If you switch to ON, you use more energy.

It is confusing though.
