[The Northbridge chip is under that aluminum finned Heatsink, close to the Processor. The Southbridge chip is to the right of the white long PCI slots. Green square circuit board, with VIA in the middle of a silvery circle ]
Does the VIA southbridge chip looked burned, or bubbled?
Hi there. Here is a brief description of those components found on the motherboard.
1. BIOS chip: This is known as Basic Input Output System and the chip contains the base instructions on how to boot the PC. All personalized settings can be configured in the BIOS such as CPU overclocking.
2. North Bridge: This component works with high speed hardware components such as RAM and PCI-E cards.
3.South Bridge: This component works with slower speed hardware components such as the hard drive and USB.
4. CPU: Central Processing Unit, this is basically the brain of a computer and this component is the one that does all calculating of data. So when you run an application, the CPU processes the data involving the application.
Matsonic notprovide supportfortheirmotherboards. Try to use "3DP Chip Software" toidentify, downloadandinstallthe appropriate driverswithyour motherboard. You ca download the application on this page: http://www.vga.pe.kr/3dp/chip_down_eng.php
Download and run it.

You can download it from http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Or plz identify which chip is used in Motherboard. Which is located near LAN port of the motherboard and search in google for the identified driver for the LAN chip
You will need to find whose sound chip is used (probably Intel) and you can get this info and tons more with Belarc Advisor, a free utility will give you a detailed description of every piece of hard- and software on your system, along with installed 'fixes.'
Once you know which company produced the chip for specific functions, you can find their website and get needed drivers.
if u can identify ur mother boad or sound card describe it.
if not then,
download unknown device finder software.
run it on ur pc and it will show ur hardware detail like
ur display chip
if ur sound chip is realtek then u can download it from intel.com
Hi, this type of error alert is most often related to RAM chip failure. If you have more than one chip, swap them around or try to boot using 1st one chip then the other to identify the faulty one. Replace this and all will be ok. Regards mistyman
This is kind of a tough one, so I'll give you what I can. Open the case and locate the largest board ( the motherboard) and painted on the motherboard (with usually white lettering paint) there should be the name of the manufacturer. Some of the majors are Asus, Intel, Biostar, Abit, Foxconn, Gigabyte, evga just to name a few. There should be a model number painted somewhere on the board in smaller lettering as well. If not paint, look for a thin somewhat long sticker towards the perimeter of the board which contains a model number and a serial number. If you can find a model number but no vendor name, do a google search on the model number and the name might pop-up. If this doesn't get you anywhere, your next step is to identify the sound chip itself. This isn't as daunting as it sounds, but will take a bit of time. To identify the sound chip look on the motherboard, and write down the information on each chip. You don't need to write down any information for chips that have heat sinks (like the processor, graphics, sometimes the bridge chips) will only leave a few. Then do a google search one by one until you hit on one that is a sound chip. Then do a google search for drivers for that chip. Hope this gets you started.
