Most likely your sound quality is limited due to the small
laptop speakers that come with laptops. Your best option is to use either
external speakers such as those used with a desktop or to use earphones. If
your volume is just not loud enough, you can try using VLC media player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. This program
boosts the sound out put while playing different forms of media. Other then
these, you would need to invest in an external sound card that connects via usb
or firewire to improve sound quality. These can be very pricy.
First, speakers don't have drivers (although one of the names used for a speaker is a driver.) Sound cards have drivers.

card's audio out and that your sound card is configured properly to
output sound. Please contact the sound card manufacturer for driver

Subwoofers are only speakers! You do not need drivers for speakers or woofers. You only need drivers for you sound/audio card/device. Probably you need the audio/sound software to configure the sound system for the "subwoofer and its satellite speakers.
Please try to install the driver of your sound card. Just ensure that your driver installer is supports vista. If not you really need to get one compatible vista, if you know the model of your sound card, just search in the internet for free drivers.
