Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

We have a VIORE DLP TV Model RPT50V24D, Dimensions: 46.54 x 14.13 x 34.25 inches, about 1 1/2 yrs. old. Our problem is that it is shutting itself off, sometimes right after we first turn it on and also after it's been on awhile. It is getting worse. We are having a hard time trying to find a repair man in our area. Do you know what is causing this, can we fix it ourselves, etc. HELP

I have the same TV, and this worked for me, and I never had the issue again.

Go into Settings, and turn off the "GAME MODE"

Mine has never turned off again.

SOURCE: HOW TO GET RID OF THE WHITE SPOTS

Hello fish_aholic,

Those white spots are the mirrors on the DMD IC failing to respond to the input signals. The most likely cause is that the transistors operating the mirrors have failed. In other words the only way to fix this problem is to replace the DMD IC. Your best bet is to replace the module the DMD is on. You will need the schematic diagram to get the part number. I would also like to suggest that you get a qualified TV technician to examine and repair this problem. This is to avoid any damage that may occur.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

VIORE DLP goes off 30 seconds after i switch it on

Listen closely at the rear of the set for any noise from a fan. Most projection sets have them to cool high temperature areas common in these and if the fan fails, the set will shut itself off before any heat damage results. If you hear nothing, use a portable fan directed at visible openings in the lower cabinet and see if this delays the shut-off of the set. If so, the fan is likely dead.
