Ie does not have spell-checker ability.
Try getting another browser.
Also if you are uncertain on a word open up a tab and enter it into google, when you search if you have spelt it wrong it will suggest a solution.

Trying to check my email at yahoo .com

Your Operating System has no bearing on your ability to check any form of email. Open your browser, clear the address bar at the top, type in yahoo.com, when the page loads, go to "Mail" then log in.

Is there a spell check feature when sending e-mails? In additon, is there a way to insert an e-mail signature when using Outlook webmail on the Droid?

i dont know about the spell check on emails. i think u can make a signature by going to outlook webmail, then going on menu, then settings, and there should be sometimeg that says signature at the top of the screen, just click on that and type in your signature, then press ok.
