Question about Toshiba 50HM66 52" Television

Plaid Screen Hi, my TV was working fine. My wife turned the TV off and when I turned it on twenty minutes later, I have a plaid screen. There are squares that almost look like copies of each other. The sound is fine, but picture is messed up. I know these tv's work with multiple mirrors.....could this be some kind of mirror issue? The bulb seems fine.

The problem is likely with your seine board or another video board. It will have distorted video/colors and you will see copies of the image in random sizes/places around the screen. If the toshiba menu is distorted it is in later stages of video, if not then earlier. More info will narrow down exacly which board. You can try reseating the LVDS cable, the computer looking one in the middle of the tv. It goes from the video board to the light engine. Unplug the tv and take off the back. The cable is usually white and has a D-type computer like connector with buttons or screws to unlock.

I have a un75es9000f and the picture looks plaid I had some movers move it and after we hung it and turned it on it looks plaid and has a bubble on the bottom of screen any ideas of the problem

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Nothing but plaid on my laptop

This may be a screen problem. In order to narrow it down, plug in an external monitor. If the monitor works correctly, then it's a problem with your screen. Somethings that you can try are: With the external monitor, go in and unistall the monitor drivers, disconnect the external, and restart the laptop. Check the connections no the screen. If it's not the driver or connections, then it will be the screen and will need replacing.

Green Plaid then Vertical Lines, Failure of hard controls, Analog Board?

You are absolutely correct, When anyone complains of vertical lines or bars, the next step is to see if it happens on only digital inputs ( digital board ) , only analog inputs ( analog board ) , or both ( DMD board ) .

Analog board can be purchased at www.partstore.com ,
