washer fills with water and pumps water out. But will not spin or agitate the

belt is fine. Also the motor turns by hand so it is not locked up or anything.

Although the last few times it was running it smelled like it was burning.

There is no reset button on a GE WBSR3140DW washer. If you give me more information I may be able to help you.

Does the washer fill with water?

Does the washer pump the water out?

What noises, if any, does the washer make, and when?

Is your washer the model you posted under? (if not, please provide exact full model number)

Here's what the GE technician just did at our house to reset the electronics:

Unplug the machine for at least 30 seconds.

Plug it back in, then open and close the lid six times.

That fixed my problem. Good luck with yours.

Best to look at replacing belt, but first check to make sure nothing is seized, drum spins freely etc.

My washer fills, will not agitate, but will spin to empty. why? #2090 ge topload

That dang drive bell has failed most likely. It has a plastic spline in it that wears smooth with time. Yank off the agitator to get to the spline. themobilian_2141.jpg

I have a service manual here

Reset computer. Unplug for 2 minutes, plug back in, open and close lid 7 times slowly to reset computer. This should solve your problem.

Machine does not agitate, will spin and rinse including.

Hi,does the top part of the agitator move freely when you move it by hand?Or does it catch,if it does not catch the the cogs other wise known as dog ears are worn out.Do not believe the little cogs that catch inside the top part of the agitator can be replaced. You may have to replace the whole agitator unit on some models they are around 40.00.

GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.

GE WBXR2060V1WW won't agitate...

There's a part under the agitator(which lifts off if you pull up from the bottom evenly on two sides) called the "Air Bell Coupler" that attaches to a metal toothed motor shaft with one bolt. More than likely the plastic teeth have stripped off from this coupler, preventing it from sitting tightly on the shaft, thus causing the agitator to not "agitate" properly. You can get this from PS1517844 KIT - AGITATOR COUPLING
Cost is $7.15 plus shipping.

Good luck!
