Running windows 7 ultimate, my 2nd internal drive suddenly no longer is listed in disk management, and 3rd drive listed cannot copy to it. cannot now open an exell file that could yesterday??

Hello,

Couple things you can try. In Computer Management right click on Disk Management and select Rescan disks - see if it shows up as one of the volumes. In the bottom pane check to see if there is an unnamed drive or a drive with an error.

If there is no sign of the drive, and you're comfortable cracking open the case, check to make sure the drive is connected to the motherboard (make sure to unplug the PC and ground yourself by touching the metal frame inside the computer before touching any components). If the connection seems ok, swap it with one of your other drives and boot up the PC. If it shows up, the problem was the cable. If it doesn't, it's likely the drive. Is it a Dell? Depending on the manufacturer you can run a diagnostic to see if the drive is damaged.

One other thing to try is to open a command prompt in Windows (Click Start and type cmd in the text box). Change the drive letter to the drive that was giving you trouble. Then run the command chkdsk /r to check the disk for errors and repair. It should prompt for a reboot. Hope this helps.

if your having a blue screen error. Try to load your operating system CD and perform a CHK DSK by repeatedly press F8 on the pc, then boot to safe mode with command prompt..

Then perform this steps manually:

Manual steps to run Chkdsk at the command prompt loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation');
  1. Click Start, and then Run.
  2. In Open, type cmd, and then press ENTER.
  3. Use one of the following procedures:

      Note If one or more of the files on the hard disk are open, you will receive the following message: Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. When i install fifa 10 or fifa 08 my pc show a problem that, it cannot read the group1.cab file. and then show the error code is 2350

that is basically a disc error. it means that the file named in the error message (.cab) file is not recognized or simply the system cannot copy and extract files from it to complete the installation.
resolution:
Create a folder in your local disk and name it Disk-1 then copy all the files of your cd-installer to that folder. do the same for DIsk 2 and so on. When during copying of files to your local disk produces error like "cannot read from device", it means that the source cd is defective with scratches and you need to buy a new installer. when no errors are detected, then open and run the setup.exe file in Disk-1.

Hi, I'm not able to reinstall wind XP in my PC. Yesterday system was hanged and I got one error. So on that time no buttons were working and shut down directly. Latter when I was trying to open my PC it's...

It may be a hard disk loose connection problem. I also had the same problem. Just try to open the cabinet and check if the SATA connector is loose. If loose then tight it and try to reinstall the XP.
If not solved, then I assume it is a virus problem.
