I had previously posted this problem and was asked if this part was plastic or flexible - it is flexible metal. My printer started to make a grating&banging noise when trying to print and was pulling the paper in at a strange angle and therefore causing it to print poorly. I have pulled out a component that was lodged in the paper feed area and it still doesnt work but I imagine that is because this is a part of the printer itself. The piece I pulled out was approximately 13cm in length and was only a milimeter thick and has small threads attached to it. (it looks like a small comb). Does anyone know what this part is or had any similar problems
It sounds like it may be a part of your paper feeder. Hope it is under warranty. The fact that the printer only started to grind and bang when it appeared to feed the paper at an odd angle points to this to but... Is the part the same colour as the inner printer workings you can see down where the paper loads. Do you have a 2 year old in the house as they like to feed things down holes!!! It may have been a foreign part from another toy!!! Believe me this happened to a friend of mine. They had to replace the paper feeder.
