JBL EON 515 XT - fades out on it's own, then comes back on...

It's probably a thermal problem with a component. You should take it into a repair shop as it is not user serviceable.

Sounds about right to me. I have 2 eon G-15s. If you don't hear any cracking sounds you should be ok.

For some reason the soft on protection circuit has failed. it is not a simple fix and would require the amplifier module to be removed from the speaker to assess the damage.

there could be something wrong with moisture. I had a drink spilled down the back of mine and I had to clean the board cause it kept blowing fuses.

Make sure you are driving this with a balanced input XLR or TRS type cable. The driving device should have the SAME type output...

If the fuse is blown, then there is a failure that requires servicing. Unless you are adept at electronics, take it to a repair shop. Here is your service manual:

The corrosion is probably due to humidity. The other issuses will requier it goes to the nearest JBL service center

For a test in troubleshooting, see if level from the headphone jack fades or not when this happens and get back to us.

IF this is a vacuum tube unit, these symptoms are that of a tube that the heater is intermittent, that is it cools off due to a break and then liights again.

Open the back and observe the heaters in the tubes. DO NOT be fooled by some that have TWO heaters in them. (use a mirror if necessary) A single one that comes and goes can cause the problem and the voiration can make it come and go. This behavior in a tube is NOT somthing readily spotted in a tube checker. The delay in fading and coming back would be the delay in warm up following a heater going out and cooling.
