When I turn on my notebook it seams to boot up normal except I am unable to see my desk top icons and task bar. I am able to force them to come on by pressing ctl, alt, del and opening the task manager. When I do this the desk top icons and task bar come on for about 10 seconds than they disappear again. It will continue to turn on and off as long as I keep the task manager open.

Try rebooting, tap F8 to get into the multi-boot options. Scroll down and choose "Last Known Good Configuration" windows should boot up normally. If you have made any hardware changes or if windows perfromed a corrupt update, that will require some additional help.
Hi, Looks as if the explorer is not starting up automatically. Try to start the explorer manually by Clicking Ctrl+Alt+Del keys together. This will turn on the Windows Task Manager. Then go to File in task manager> Click on New task(Run)> type explorer.exe This should start up the PC...
This does not appear to be a display issue but more of a failure of explorer to load. Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del so it brings up task manager. Click file then go to new task and type Explorer and see if all of your icons and such show up. If they do you will want to install a spyware remover such as spybot search and destroy from safer-networking to check for any spyware that is preventing explorer from running. Also check your event viewer in safe mode and see if there are any errors when you boot.
