Question about Canon LBP 800 Laser Printer

1 Answer

Paper jam cleared - but still won't work

LBP 800 had a paper jam which has been cleared by removing the cartridge and taking out the paper. The paper came out cleanly ( ie all in one piece) I have check everywhere for small paper bits or dust - and there is nothing in there. I've replace the cartridge, closed it & it just keeps telling me there is a paper jam. Normally it whirrs into action to start printing. I've tried turning it on and off, checked the printer cable, rebooted the computer - everything I can think of. Any suggestions?

Turn off the printer for a while then back on again, if it still refuse to print, try printing a test page.

Without doing a complete disassemble, remove all covers, remove paper tray(s), remove ink cartridges (or laser cartridges...everything that is EASY to remove. Clean your rollers (may be gummed up a bit), remove all dust, dirt, grime, everything. My Canon printers are extremely sensitive to jams. As long as you keep it clean internally, you should have no problems. Take a look at this video about paper jams.

A paper has struck in printer so its not printing how to remove the paper

1) Open the top cover
2) Remove the toner cartridge
3) Remove any paper from the multipurpose tray
4) If you can see the LEADING EDGE of the jammed paper slowly pull it out.
This may be easiest from either the multipurpose tray side or from under the toner cartridge

How do I remove stuck paper

Please follow these steps:
•1 Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
•2
Turn off the printer.
•3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
•4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
•5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
•6

If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
•7

If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
•8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
•9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.

My printer is 5 weeks old. My Samsung CLX 3175FN color laser printer has a paper jam. I have removed as much of the paper as possible, but it is still jammed ( where I cannot get at it ) in the upper rear...

Have you turned the printer off then tiurn it back on. If you have a paper jam, after you remove the paper, you must restart it for it to clear.
Otherwise, if there is paper still in the printer, turn off the printer remove all 4 toner cartridges and the waste cartridge. Once you do that you may be able to see the paper. You may be able to take one more thing out to where you can see the paper better, I am not sure.

LBP 800 Paper Jam

You need to check the two small paper sensor levers located inside the machine. One of them may be stuck, giving a false jam message.

First is located in the centre, towards the rear just after the paper input roller, the other is located near th front, just after the output of the fuser (Heated rollers)
