Question about Yahoo Messenger
Please try this
Start - Run - regsvr32 jscript.dll - OK
Start - Run - regsvr32 vbscript.dll - OK
What it does is that the Java scripting that turned on in IE or FF is not actually turned on. So these two commands will help it to be enabled.
it worked for me . Good Luck.

I kept searching the web for a solution for this problem. As a result, I found out that the one thing in common that I have with other people that have this same issue is that they all installed SP3 (I'm pretty sure you did too). I did not know that I was also getting a similar script error when clicking Help > About from IE 7. This is what I did to solve the YM problem (You will need your original Windows XP installation disc):
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click Add or Remove Programs (in Classic View)
3. Click on Add/Remove Windows Components on the left panel
4. Uncheck Internet Explorer, then hit Next and wait until it finishes
6. With your XP installation CD in the drive, repeat steps 1 to 3
7. This time, place a check on Internet Explorer then hit Next until it finishes.
I think that should do the trick, but in the event that it doesn't, I actually reinstalled IE 7 from the web, then IE 8 beta (after that didn't work) before I did the 7 steps above.
