Question about HP Photosmart 2410 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Here's your manual:
Parts are available on the left side of the screen. You need four cables. One is tough.
You need to find the *exact* model number of your printer -- look for a sticker on the back with a bar code. Something says Q80somethingsomethingsomething. That's it. That will determine which thing you get.
OK, so the three most common cords:
1) Standard PC power cord, three-prong outlet to that boxy kinda plug that goes into your computer's power supply. HP gave you a 3 foot cord for that.
2) Standard USB to accessory cord -- I believe they call it a Type A to Type B.
3) Standard telephone cord (not the handset, but between the phone and the wall, for your fax machine).
And the tough one: The power module.
For each specific model of printer listed, I found a photo of one part that can no longer be ordered (0950-4466) and a part that can be ordered that has no photo (Q7310-60003). I don't know if that "Q" part is right. HP quotes some $32.50 plus shipping.
Now, if you type the 0950 number into eBay, you see some power supplies for about half that price (possibly used) that even include the fatter computer-style power cord so you're saving money there.
The other cords will be pricier at the big chain stores -- unbelievably so. NewEgg, for example, lists an A-B USB cord for $2.99 plus shipping. I've seen a similar product for $20 or more at Staples.
The phone cable you may have hanging around already.
Good luck, and I'm sorry for your losses!
