I'm using nero 7 and an external lite-on burner. As i said this combo will read, but it will not write or finalize the dvd.

You need software that will burn a DVD...(i.e. Nero)

You didn't SAY you were using Nero, now did you?

If you don't have it installed correctly it WON'T write..it'll be recognized as a common DVD-Rom instead of a writer. Make sure you have the proper drivers for the device, then go from there.

Will the lg bd-390 play burned dvd-or+r,s or rw-dvd's?

The LG BD390 should read DVD+/-r if they are finalized. he same is true of DVD-rw discs. However, a lot depends on the burner and software you use for the burn. This unit will only support video mode, VR mode and AVHCD formats. It will also support DVD+R DL discs.

A lot depends on the movie and audio file codecs that you use to burn the disc. For a complete list of discs that are supported, see the manual. It's available here: http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-BD390# .

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the software and hardware that you are using to convert and burn your video for additional help.

Does a Philips CDRW/DVD SCB5285 on a laptop burn movies? If not then can I buy a stand alone dvd burner to hook up to it? Thanks for any help and input.

Thank you for getting back to me about my question. I found out that if my DVD is a DVD/ROM it does not burn DVDs. I am told that I can get a external DVD burner to Burn DVDs.
Thank You Very Much

Hitachi dvd player not reading all dvds

Hello, I'm here try and help your problem, first older DVD players only read certain disc formats, If you have your owners manuel to your DVD player it will tell you what types of discs the DVD player will play. There are seneral types of burnable disc's DVD -, DVD +, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, please looking in the owners manual for the types of discs that the player will read, also in the same secton it will tell the types of formats that it will read DVD Video, DVD ROM, and there is a few others, Next is when you burn DVD's the type of burner you have makes a difference. You will need to find out what format your DVD burn, burns to disc, some of the newer DVD players
read alot of the formats. I would start by finding out what your DVD burns first, then I would suggest buying a DVD player that will read that format. If you have anyother questions please feel free to post them, Thank You and have a great day.
