Question about Kyocera Mita Office Equipment & Supplies
I want to reset the copier so the "replace Unit" light doesn't flash. It still makes good copies, and I don't want to replace both the drum and developer to get the light to go off.
here is the fix: Press "C", press the exposure button (below the picture of the little man), press "C", press the exposure button. When you do this all the indicator lights will turn off. Now input "24", press the green start button, input 07, and press the start button again. Now turn the copier off and back on with the power switch on the side.
Press: "Clear", "Exposure Select Key", "Clear", "Exposure Select Key", "24", "Start Key", "7", "Start Key"

Key the front door. To enter service mode hold clear/stop and print while powering ON. Using the + keys increment up to simulation 60, press print to start. Adjust the toner control VR on the front of the developing unit to center the LEDs on the exposure indicator. Press clear/stop to stop. Power Off/On to exit simulation mode.
If you cannot center the LEDs. Developer must be new. Clean the toner sensor surface. Check the doctor blade is set to 1.05mm, and mag brush to 18mm. Leave the toner hopper and front cover off of the developing unit. Remove the back cover. Run simulation 60 for several minutes to completely stir the developer.
If LED's show 1) Always Light, 2) Always Dark, 3) Irratic
While running simulation 60, meter pin 3 of the developing unit plug to ground from the back of the copier (center pin, top row). This is the toner sensor output. Ideal value is 2.7VDC. Acceptable range is 2.5 to 2.9VDC. If it is not, adjust the VR within the toner sensor accordingly, or replace the toner sensor. A problem with the toner sensor is usually seen as 1) Always Light condition and readings from 3.0 to 4.5VDC.
With 2) Always Dark or 3) Irratic, stop simulation 60. Remove the developing unit from the copier. Meter pins 5 to 10 on the 20Kohm range (the two pins to the far right as viewed from the back), while turning the developer setting VR. Readings should range from 0 to 4500 ohms. Readings of 4500 unchanging, or irratic indicate a faulty developer setting VR. Replace the VR with Mita part # 73928070 Toner Density VR PCB (or Radio Shack part # 271-280, PCB Mount 1Kohm Potentiometer). New developer sets correctly around 700 ohms on the VR.
This procedure works on the Mita DC2114/2113. The only difference between that and the Mita DC1415/1435 is that the mag brush setting is 20mm, and the developing unit plug is rotated 180 degrees.

This should be the reset procedure for Kyocera Mita, if I remember well:
enter the service mode holding down the buttons print and stop/clear, and starting the unit at the same time, then leave the buttons and press again stop/clear
Enter 73 print menu, there you can reset lamp counter. Restart the unit to complete the procedure.
I will also be grateful if you can rate the solution after this work.

You may indeed have to replace the unit, have you called the manufacturer tech support line?
