Why won't my TV pick read my portable DVD player?

I have a small TV/VCR combo (Daewoo) It has the yellow and white video and audio ports in the front. I tried to hook up a DVD player to it and it doesn't pick it up at all. I tried the DVD player on another small TV with the yellow and white inputs on the back and it works ok. This second TV also plays my karaoke CDs and the new one won't. Is something wrong with the inputs. I have never used these inputs and cannot find my manual. Thanks.

Probably you need to change your input setting using the menu in your tv. use your remote control in finding that menu. good luck!

How do I connect old school dvd/vcr combo to LED HDTV?

Y is not compatible, it is one of the three inputs for "component" video which consists of Red, Green, Blue channels - RGB. The single yellow jack is "composite" video and the red and white are for audio. If your TV has HDMI inputs which are commonly used for HD TVs now, then you should be able to find an A/V adapter to convert the composite video and the audio to HDMI. HDMI carries sound as well as video. You may also find a composite to component adapter which will take the single composite signal from the combo device and break it into the 3 RGB signals for the TV. The thing is that the quality will not be HD for any of these, but then anything on VHS tape or home made DVDs will not be HD anyway. Try searching amazon and ebay, possibly newegg.

How do I hook up my Toshiba DVD player to my old Daewoo Tv /vcr combo

what inputs does the old Daewood / VCR combo use is it RCA and Video cable on an AV input? How many Av inputs are there in TV ? Does the DVD player have AV out audio out (Yellow) RCA (Red and White). If you do not have enough AV inputs on the Tv use an AV switch box . and Switch two AV RCA inputs /DVD and VCR and into one output to the TV. You may be able to feed the AV out RCA out into the VCR AV in and switch the input on the VCR.

Compatability with magnavox combo dvd and vcr

the back of the vcr/dvd player will have some rca plugs that are red, yellow, white, they will be labeled out putthe yellow is video, the red and white are left and right audio, the back of your tv should have the same thing,it should say input, get a rca cable with plugs on both ends and match the plugs to the colors,if you tv or dvd player, doesnt have these, then you will need to plug your cable box into the dvd player and run a coaxial from the dvd player and tv,use channel 3 or 4 on the dvd player and 3 or 4 on the tv

I have a 1994 zennith TV/VCR COMBO I am trying to connect a dvd player to. I have one yellow video cord and one double stranded audio red/white cord. I can not get a picture. Vcr player does still work.

Connect yellow from DVD to TV. Connect white and red cables from DVD to TV. Yellow to yellow, white to white etc. Then select on the TV using the remote, the proper input (where the DVD is connected) Press PLAY on the DVD player.

How do i/can i record tv to a DVD ]

If your using RCA cables (thats the red, white & yellow leads) you need run yellow RCA from the 'VIDEO (or) TV OUTPUT' at the back of your tv, to the 'VIDEO (or) TV INPUT' in the back of your DVD/VCR combo unit, & do the same with the red & white 'AUDIO' leads only run them from AUDIO OUTPUT(tv) to AUDIO INPUT(dvdrecorder). Now set the mode of the dvd recorder to TV IN or AUX IN. Now it should record whatever you see on the tv screen. But if your tv has an S VIDEO OUTPUT option, using an S VIDEO cable would be much easier & produces a better copy! Hope this helps!

Hooking up a d.v.d player to a vcr/tv combo?

RCA plugs (the yellow, red, and white outlets you speak of) consist of a video plug (yellow) and stereo plugs for audio (red and white). Just match the colors from the DVD RCA colors to the RCA hook-ups on the TV (ex. Yellow the Yellow, White to White).

You don't need to worry about the red one, it just makes the DVD player play stereo audio. Instead, you'll have mono, which is fine, and most modern players can detect mono and switch it for you so don't worry about changing settings and what not (unless you're missing sound on one side.)

Need directions to install a dch70 box to tv

dear woolifer ,
I am not an expert but i hope i can help you..
is it youmean digital cablebox?
if it is try this-

This is a problem a lot of people have with coaxial-only televisions because DVD players do not have coaxial (RF) outputs, which means they can't be connected directly into a television with only a coaxial (RF) input. The solution is to purchase a RF modulator, which is a small device that will convert the AV output from the DVD player to coaxial (RF).
As for the instructions, I am going to assume the DVD player is not a combo unit with the VCR, and that you want to record TV on your VCR. Step 4 will include connecting your DVD player, but if the DVD player is a combo unit with the VCR, just ignore step 4 part as DVD connection will be included in the VCR set up. Actually, you wouldn't need the RF modulator if it is a VCD/DVD combo unit.
  1. Connect the coaxial cable coming out from the wall to your digital cable box in the ‘video in’ slot. It might also be labeled ‘antenna in’ or ‘cable in’.
  2. From the cable box, connect a coaxial or composite (yellow video cable) and stereo (red-white) RCA audio cables to the VIDEO IN terminal on your VCR.
  3. From the VCR, you will have to connect this to the RF Modulator using a coaxial cable from the VIDEO OUT on the VCR to one of the IN ports on your RF modulator.
  4. You can now connect your DVD player to the RF Modulator by using the yellow-red-white composite/RCA cables from the VIDEO OUT on the DVD player to another port on the RF modulator.
  5. From the RF modulator, connect this unit to your TV by using a coaxial cable. It will be from the VIDEO OUT on the RF modulator to the VIDEO IN or CABLE or ANTENNA IN port on your television.
This should be all you need to get started watching your digital television. In simple terms here is what you did:
Coaxial from wall to cable box
Cable box to VCR
VCR to RF modulator
DVD player to RF Modulator
RF modulator to TV
You will only be able to record what is on channel

Hd tv to vcr

What model and manufacturer DVD/VCR combo are you using. if it has a HDMI port, you should buy a HDMI cable to your combo player than to your HDTV (most don't have this High Definition port.) 6f3606c.jpg
otherwise, it probably contains a composite port, connect the red to the red (Left) white to white (mono) and yellow to yellow (Video) than connect the wires to the matching port on your HDTV) then switch the input to AV or Composite. 9701d83.jpgb5e3eb0.jpg

If this fails, you need a coaxial cable.85dec5e.jpgconnect a coaxial cable to your player then to the coaxial port on your tv. change the input to "either Coaxial, Cable 3 or any input that sets it to coaxial input.
