You may not have it set to automatically do something.

Try Start: My Computer and look for the card reader there. You can then copy-and-paste, open everything with a program, whatever you want.

How do I import photos from my camera?

There are two ways to import your photos.
One, your camera should have an sd card which you can eject and put into your computer. The sd card should have all your photos and videos in it. Typically the card is located near the battery and you can press down on it and it should pop out. You may also need a sd card reader or micro sd card reader if it doesn't fit in your computer.
Second, your camera should also have a usb port, whether micro or mini or whatever. It should have a port to connect to your computer through a usb cable. In this case, just connect your camera to your computer and it should show up on your computer like an extra drive where you can go in and see all your photos.
Also, the folder that holds everything is usually labed DCIM i believe.
Hope this helps.

I have an Inspiron one. Normally when I put my SD card in it pops up an option to import the photos. Today, I put my SD card in and nothing. So I don't know how to import my photos.

Click to the "Start" icon on the bottom left side of your desktop and click on "Computer". A menu will open showing the storage devices attached to your computer. You should be able to click on the SD device to open.

I have a disney micro digital camera, where i can get a free download to transfer the photos from the camera into my pc?

Your camera has a SD card slot. If you have one of these in your camera then it is just a matter of transferring them from the card to your computer. Most stores that carry the SD cards will have a card reader you can buy. You connect the card reader to your computer and insert your SD card into it. From there you can open up this card reader in MY computer, select your photos, right click and hit copy. The you open up the file you want to put them in (like my documents then my pictures) and right click again and go to paste. This wil transfer all those pictures you have selected onto your computer but they will still be on the SD card too. Hope this helps. The card readers cost about $20 give or take.

Hi.. I think you have solved the problem yourself... replace the adapter with a memory stick... You have eliminated the micro sd card as bad... now try a new known good memory stick..

Turn off write protection on a sd micro card

If you are using it with the SD adaptor, the swith at the side marked lock is not to secure the micro sd card within the adaptor. This is the write protection. If you set this to the 'unlocked' position (up) then you should be able to write files onto it!
