Question about Acer Aspire 1360 Notebook

1 Answer

No power recently the power cord got really hot where it goes into the laptop and then the power cord didn't work. I went and got a new power cord and the led lights in front blink about 8 times then shut off. I heard that sometimes the ram goes out so I got a new memory card with the same speed and size and it still does the same thing. Sometimes the lights don't blink at all. I have only had the machine for a little over a year just enough time for the warranty to be up.

It could be that the motherboard or power input socket is faulty and not something that can be repaired unless you know what you are doing.

Toshiba laptop power failure after yanking power cord

Hello.

Sounds like you already determined it, but if you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

Hope this helps.

Acer TravelMate Laptop, cord getting hot, not getting power

I would imagine the voltage regulator in the adapter brick it dying...it will fry your motherboard if it starts throwing off power spikes. laptops need good consistent power flow of the right voltage. Buy another adapter.

MT6451 Display will not work.

Hello

It sounds like your AC cord or the female plugin soldered onto the motherboard has gone bad and will no longer make a connection to charge the battery or power the laptop on.

You would have to try a new power cord to find out which is the problem. If the cord fixes it, then it was just a bad cord (as you said it gets very hot, this maybe a sign of a cheap cord that has gone defective).

If the cord is not to blame, then the female plugin is loose and there is little you can do unless your an expert at soldering.

Post back with anymore questions or comments for additional help. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Cords,reciever, and headphones

The curly cord goes into the headphones themselves. It is for recharging the batteries. The power cord is obvious. The audio cord plugs into your computer, laptop, TV, radio, etc. To USE the head phones, unplug them from the curly cord. The sound goes from your laptop, etc. to the pillar-type thingy, from there it goes into the air where your headphones pick it up. I use mine while doing housework and tossing the ball outside with my dog. While my laptop sits in the office I can hear my audio book in the yard outside and all around the house. Just remember to plug the headphones back into the curly cord to recharge the battery. If / when the batteries die, you can use regular AA batteries...BUT DON"T PLUG THE CURLY CORD INTO "AA" BATTERIES or IT WILL BLOW UP!!
