Dirty video head

I am using the Sony DCR-TRV260 NTSC with Hi8MP. When I am filming, sometimes it will say Dirty Video Head. I have RErecoreded over some cassettes probably 5 times. Is that my problem? Do i need to buy new cassettes? Also I saw you helped someone telling him to change the video head or clean it or something. What is the video head, and how do i change and/or clean it?

And you are sure the head can move freely?
A printer has sensors, that can be folded. For instance if the small film that is attached to the head and runs over wheels, is dirty, or the sensor where it is running through is dirty or defect the printer will generate the same error. Keep the inside of a printer clean and take care nothing can fall in.

Bought a direct dvd recorder Sony DRV-MC10 on Amazon.USA,namely imported from USA to Greece. I can only record fotos on the DVD. When trying to record on dvd through all input connections I get an error...

Yes, the problem with electronics is the US uses NTSC and most other countries use PAL, it changes how the tape head alignes with the tape. You have to insure the device you have is both (most devices are) so try and get into the menu settings and see if you have a PAL/NTSC video selector option. If so change it to PAL.
