Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Hi, I have an HP Deskjet 450wbt Printer (where the wbt is in the model number and stands for wireless bluetooth). It's a few years old and now I need a replacement Power Supply. When searching (using google.com and dogpile.com) I keep finding "Universal Adapters" where you can change the tips to match what you need. My experience with those are not good with the connection so I wanted a Power Supply like the one I had from HP but am having trouble finding one. Some say they are 60W while others are 90W and I can't find the manual for the printer online or my original paper copy to know which is correct. Could you please help me find the exact Power Adapter (with a power cord as well) for my printer? Thank you very much... Tyler Ramage Louisville, KY

Here are some part numbers for you. I found both these items on ebay but you might be able to find them other places. I just used ebay to check if the part numbers were correct. There are two cords that you need to power the machine.
1) The Power Cord: PN# 8120-8900. This cord plugs into the power module then into the wall.
2)The Power Module: PN# 0957-2229. This cord plugs into your printer and has a place for the power cord to plug in.

There might be some places that sell them both together but be careful if you have lost both these you will need them both to power your machine.
Hope this helps

How to power my deskjet 450?

I would take it apart and look for burnt spots on the circuit board and for blown capacitors. If it has a fuse, and it is blown, make sure you replace it with one of the same rating. DO NOT BYPASS IT! Also, make sure it's unplugged and wear a static grounding bracelet. Good luck

Is your Deskjet still in the default "Private" mode? If so, change it to the "Public" mode.

In the toolbox, go to the printer services tab and choose configure Bluetooth settings. Change the mode to public mode.
