When my parents tried to get our stove fixed, the electrician somehow broke the ceramic glass covering the top. Is there a way to replace/repair the glass or would we have to buy the whole thing over again?

One of the things that can cause a glass cooktop to crack and pit is having sugar spill on it while it is hot. You can still use it. Also they are expensive to replace. In some cases a new stove is cheaper.
hi...no nid to replace the ceramic top,coz it is very expensive compare to buy a new one.the price of the glass ceramic top is mostly half or 3/4 of the actual price of the new one.much beter to buy an new one,get an new & the warranty but the glass is not covered in waranty for all brand.
are u sure u want to replace the ceramic glass top, much beter to check the price of the unit, coz it is very expensive almost halt the price of the new one...dont try to replace it by ur self coz the glass cover is no waranty if u broke or wrong intallation,u waste ur money if hapen that, much beter to canvas first & call an expert tecnician to do it.
much beter to call an technician coz the glass ceramic is no warnaty,if u get wrong instalation or broke the glass u waste ur money, call the person have an expertise for that.dont try to fix by it ur self.coz if the technician fix it,u get an assurance for the waranty if may happen during instalation.
hi...first thing to do is canvas the price of the ceramic glass top,coz the price of the glass is half or more compare to the new one..do u think if u buy a glass only it is reasonable or waste ur money?then dont try to fix it by it ur self, coz the glass u buy is no warranty for wrong instalation.call an expert technician to do it to get an assurance for the warranty for installation.
HI You should be able to replace the top only. Normally if this is your fault, it is not covered by warranty. Normally this would be if you dropped something onto it. This would leave like a star shap series of cracks. If its down to manufacture, this should be covered under warranty. This damage normally looks like just one long crack, no impact mark. Check with the manufacturer
