Most likely you have a problem with the fill valve. This uses solenoids to control the water into the machine. Shut off the hot water supply and remove the fill hose. Make sure the hose isn't kinked or clogged. There is a filter screen in the valve where the hose connects so check that too for clogs.

If the hose is OK the valve hot side solenoid may have failed. It needs to be checked with an ohmmeter. A good site is here:

http://repair2000.com/nowater.html

It shows a diagram of a fill valve and the terminals where you'd check. They have lots of other good troubleshooting information too, and sell parts.

It's also possible the temperature switch is bad, but this is not as likely as the valve.

Hope this gets you going.

Washer will not fill when hot selected ok on other settings

Could be that there is no hot water going into the tub when you select that setting. Make sure the hot water tap is on. Sometimes there is a difference in pressure coming from the hot water heater than cold and that may affect your washer.

Washer comes up with f-05 code what does this mean?

Could the unit possibly be a whirlpool duet or kenmore elite model? They are 99.9% the same. If so, it is a temperature sensor error. If you have the unit set for warm or hot water, and not enough hot water makes it into the tub by the time it is full, the washer realizes this and drains the water, to refill with warm or hot water. If the tap water never gets warm, the unit will fault out and act strange.

If the water in the tub is in fact warm or hot like it should be, the water temp sensor should convey this information to the control board. If the sensor has failed, the control board never sees this change, and sets the same error code.

If you cannot or are not willing to dig deep into this machine, call a service tech out. Chances are, the tech can have your washer running again in an hour or two. Please mark me down as helpful.

try turning on your water at the sink for a while on hot let it run then start the wash cycle that should help. what that will do is let the cold water run out of the pipes and therefore you will have a hot water start.

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Washer will not fill up with hot water however it will with warm

Is your water temp on your water heater set high enough? If it is sounds like you are getting water from both hot & cold water valves. If temp is set correctly on machine temp switch may be bad on warm all time.

Bath tub water doesn't stay hot

it is because the tub has a temp control valve in it so if you were to put more cold with the hot it will last longer but still won't be all the way hot,, now a days people are suing the manifacture because they are getting burned form the hot water so they put these saftey temp controls in place of the old style 2 or 3 handle faucets,, there fo no more real hot water nothing you can do outside of change to the othere type of faucet 2 or 3 handle tub shower diverter,, that why the water is hot in the sink but not the tub.....

Washer is rinsing with hot wateer nomatter what temp. setting is used. I have tried to switch hoses twice now, no difference in rinse but now on correct wash temp.

The MAH5500 series washers have automatic temperature control functions so the washer can control water temp regardless of water heater settings and other factors. I would say either your definition of "hot" is not truly "hot" (over 110 degrees), or the washer's ability to sense has failed (which would also affect fill temp on "wash" fills also). If someone has worked on the washer recently, maybe they reversed the wiring to the water valves inside the machine? ATC temps are as follows: Cold 70-90, warm 90-110, and hot is unregulated at 110 degrees and up. These are normal temp ranges for ATC controlled machines, and are completely safe for fabrics.

Washer is a top load set it hot water and starts with hot and then will go cold willnot stay on hot G E Profile ,model wwa8350g

most new washers sense water temp and will try to adj final tub water temp by alternately running cold or hot as needed ..most hot settings are not faucet temp but a predetermined temp so if your hot water is 140 degrees coming in the control will switch the cold on to bring final tub water temp down to preset ..which could be as low as 100 degrees the industry's way of energy conservation
