Question about PC Desktops

Scanned 18 outdated drivers. I have never been happy with this system, bought the extended warrant also. Still covered. I don't think I should have to pay for new drivers. Not when system is still so new.

Thanx for explaination. I have never found a system like this/VISTA to be so confusing and frustrating. I want things to be more automatic. I can't choose every little thing I want it to use , where to put it and all the other options. Too complicated. And yes you are right things have never worked properly. I will try what you advised. To top it off you search and search the web and they all lie about it being free. Wasting my time and faith. I hope this works. Will post to let you know, if I don't kick this $700.00 system to the curb 1st.

I used to enjoy computer technology with ME and 2000. But it is truly a shame when I look at my computer and want to bash it in. Sorry. Peace .

EXACTLY. SO do I believe it and can the site you recommended scan so I don't have to search driver by driver for what I might or might not need?

What is your exact issue? Drivers are free as most updates are free as well.

What are 'they' trying to make you pay for?

Usually this is a driver update service ythat "finds outdated drivers" and asks you to pay to fix it. you are paying for the service not the drivers.

If you have windows service pack two or better installed just click windows key pause buttons at the same time then go to hardware then device manager.

im there just right click the device and hit update driver. This will update most devices to the newest drivers.

Although the only time yo really need to update drivers is when stuff isnt fucntioning properly. Ive found updating sometimes causes undo problems.

i understand completely. you have to deal with one computer giving you problems, i deal with hundreds so i understand completely what your saying.

As far as driver download sites try places like or just google and search for your driver. I have never paid for a driver yet and I have been doing this since Windows 3.1.

I know they can be frustrating but they can also be helpful, you just have to stick with it. and if your gonna kick the 700 dollar computer to the curb call me first ill buy it... hehehe... just kidding.

As far as the original problem I owould say just ignore it until you have a problem with a specific device.

This is the problem with adaware and spyware and stuff like that is they cause a false problem and then give you a way to fix it and then usualy screw up more than what was originally wrong.

    Hope this was helpfull.

They might be outdated. I suggest that you install RadarSync and scan your computer with it. You can use the same software to update the outdated drivers in your computer.

Unlock gateway touchpad

Your touchpad's driver might be outdated that's why it's acting like that. Drivers are small software which make the hardware parts communicate with the operating system. If the drivers get outdated, then it won't function well.
You can get the update from the website of your computer's manufacturer. If you want to cover all drivers, then you can scan your computer with RadarSync ( so that you will know which drivers are outdated and you can use the same software to update them all.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
I hope this helps!

I think a virus running real slow

If it's in the internet browser only and not the whole computer, then try using a different website browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

If the whole computer is slowing down, then run a full anti-virus scan. If no viruses are found, then do a disc clean up. GO to start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disc Clean up

Delete all unneccessary files. Just put a check mark on all. After that, restart your computer. Install or update the device drivers - You can use RadarSync to update them all so that you won't miss any outdated driver in the computer.

I hope this helps!

It take more than 3 minutes to connect on line, plus the computer moves very slow

have your pc scanned for viruses, viruses tends to cause these, if you finished scanning and theres no virus in your system have your hardware check, by a computer tech. a failing device is reason for a slow system

Some missing drivers which I dint Know what is it and how can I got it ?

if you are not sure what drivers are missing you can download a driver update tool which does a free scan to check for the outdated drivers on the system. for eg: and then either you can manually download the drivers or register with the software to automatically download the drivers if you have a working internet connection

Clarification 18 outdated drivers

Vista has it's ups and downs, and it really has gotten a bad rap in general - some deserving and some not so much.

The important thing to remember is that you already bought your computer and nothing legit will keep asking you for more money.

You might have mal-ware on your system that I can help you remove.
Also using a different browser will help to stop pop ups and that sort of thing.

Download Spy-bot and run that to remove any mal-ware (malicious software).

I use Firefox as my browser and I get ZERO pop ups!

Let me know what I can do to help.

No one at FixYa sold you a warranty, as far as I know.

Please don't neglect a bottom-line idea here: If your drivers are working, you may have no real reason to update. Unless you're playing lots of games or something, it should not matter.

I strongly suspect someone told you have 18 outdated drivers -- who told you, and what did they tell you? Are they trying to sell you something?

An 18-month-old computer may have quite a few outdated pieces of software, and also some outdated drivers.

You can update your drivers and software in a number of ways. All have some ... problems, but they're worth a try. Secunia offers, for home users, a free product called PSI; that will look for outdated software and typically offer a download link. Please read everything it tells you carefully. Secunia PSI may default to running every time you restart the computer; that annoys me, and I've disabled it, but your mileage may vary.

A free product called RadarSync will also try to check for outdated drivers. I've had some up-and-down problems with this; sometimes I'll have version 10 of something and it'll tell me I need to update to version 5, for example. But sometimes, sometimes, the drivers are legitimate.

The only thing that should matter is that you're regularly getting Windows updates (see a Start: Control Panel) by the same name, and you've got anti-virus software (and probably anti-spyware software) installed that's of your choice. I use AVG Free Edition; others like it and others loathe it. There are plenty of options for you out there.
