My mp3 player wont let me put files on it

I have a Sansa c140 and I am having problems putting songs on it. It worked for a month or two, and now it just doesn't let me put anything on it. When I try on a mac the files just don't go. Windows Media player says that I dont have any free space and I have no files on it. Help please.

    Hi
Im having trouble trying to put files on my mp3. I tried deleting all files and i kept getting repeats on the same files, which i did not do. I have had players before and this has never happened to me. When i tried to fix the problem by clicking on my properties it said i needed to format my device which i did but now i can not put any files on it and keeps coming up "file 999" I have been reading on the net that i should format it NTFS but i can only format it to FAT. Also it is a 4GB player but when i formatted it it is only coming up with 1GB. when i turn the device on there is no files on the device but my memory shows that i have used 52% of memory... please help thank you

I have a quick and painless solution for you.

First open your mp3 player and go to settings. Under the USB menu change it to MSC. Then plug in the mp3 player to the computer. Open the My Computer on your desktop, right click on the Sansa mp3 player and click Format. Make sure Fat32 is checked and Quick format is UNchecked. Then format the mp3 player. After that it should be clean and work just like a USB drive.

Hope this helps!

I can't take songs off the sansa c140. I hook it to the computer and only 30 songs show up (the last 30 I downloaded to it) but i have 130 songs on it. Want to get rid of some of the old stuff

Sometimes trying to delete the songs thru the media player/Itunes does not work
Try this solution:

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Sansa c140 screen frozen

Try a "hard reset". Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut off. With the device off, press and hold the vol + and the center select button. Power it back on, see if that works. You can add to the question if you have more questions. Best of Luck.
