Okay; I've had the same problem with formatting my memory card for the M425..finally discovered you can't use the SDcard with HC and you can't use more than 2GB. Once I finally used the SanDisk SD 2GB card it worked perfectly. No more frustration. Hope this helps.

The first thing you will have to check the card. There is slot on the card that contains a switch. This will lock the card so that it is write-protected. This will cause the unsupported card error.

If the card looks fine, try a card reader just to confirm that the card has not been corrupted.

If the card is functional and you can read its contents from the PC or another SD-slot device, then the issue is your camera. The slot contains thin copper prongs that comes in contact the copper surface on the back of the SD card. If the prongs are bent or damage, then the camera cannot read your card.

My SD high capacity memory card won't work

You call it a SD high capacity memory card, but does it say SDHC on the card, or SDXC. our camera only can use Multi Media cards, SD and SCHC cards (max 32 GByte). So no go for SDXC cards. Still a few things could be wrong if you have a SDHC card. The lock switch on the card could be in the wrong position and the card could have a wrong format. If you did format it in a PC, you should have formatted to FAT 32.
But the best format is the format in the camera. Before you do so, be sure there are no import ants files or pictures on the memory card, because they will be lost.

Memory card needs formatted is displayed on the screen. Deleted the pictures and it still comes up. Tried to take more pictures and the memory card would not hold. Is there something wrong with the camera...

I assume you have an SD card. If it's bigger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card and will not work in the ZD710.

No, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong. The card just needs to be formatted. In any mode press the Menu button. Press right-arrow to select the Setup tab (camera and wrench) then press OK. Press up/down-arrow to select "Format" then press OK.

Make sure you format the memory card. It's okay to format the internal memory, of course, but your current problem appears to be that the card needs to be formatted.

I have the wrong format on my digital camera. How do I fix it?

Download any pics from the card using a card reader if necessary. Then, insert the card into the camera. Go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

HP R927 says that the 4GB card i recently bought wrong format

ok ...see that into the side of the card( if its a SD) has a slide like button with 2 positions of them is the unlocked one ...after that either format it into the camera if it has that feature...or just connect it to the computer and it will be found somewhere into the My computer as a removable drive ....just right click and format in Fat 32...this is the actual storage format fit for this cards..

My Camcorder is taking a long time to format my sd card. It still isn't formatted. It's been about 30 minutes. Is there something I'm not doing right?

You should try formatting another card. If it formats the other card fine, then something is wrong with the card you were trying to format first...
