Hi There, its sounds to me your Lens is failing. You can try to clean it but be gentle. Remove the pasitc latch over your lens, unplug it first. Check to see the lens should be nice and shiny like a diamond if you see dust on it thats your problem. Clean with a clean ear cleaner "cotton on a stick" use Metholated spirits. Clean gentle make circler motion dont press to hard. If problem still not solve you will need to replace the lens.

Hope you come right

Thank You

HI
IT IS THE Laser spindle motor. Make sure to get one with the same length shaft - will cost $3 or $4 max and a bit of soldering after removing the drive unit.Or if you can't find one, a new complete laser assembly will have a new spindle motor already fitted - price depends on model of laser.

Although there are many things that could cause this problem, there are three that are the most common.

They are... Bad laser, dirty laser lense, or bad spin motor. You have already removed the top cover, but be careful never to power up the unit with the laser lense exposed, or you will be performing home laser eye surgery on yourself with very bad results!

When you close the CD drawer, listen carefully to make sure the loading motor stops...if the belt is slipping, the mech never gets the "drawer closed" signal, and the disk will not spin. If the drawer is closing ok, listen for a faint "ticking" sound, this is the laser lense going up & down trying to focus on the disk. If you hear that sound, but the disk doesn't spin, try gently spinning the disk clockwise with your finger.. if it starts to spin & finds the directory, then the spin motor has developed a dead spot, and the unit may work fine several times until it lands in that same spot again. If that is the case, the spin motor must be replaced. To clean the laser lense, you will need some rubbing achohol & cotton swabs. Make sure it is at least 70% USP not the dollar store suff, (50% water). I'm not familiar with your model, but likely you will have to remove a cover that holds the clamping ***'y that is usually a round piece with a magnet inside that clamps the disk to the spin motor. Saturate the swab with alchohol, and touch the lense..the alchohol should cover the lense forming one big drop, then VERY gently move the drop around with the same end of the swab to loosen any debris.

Then take a dry swab or the dry end if double ended swab, and touch it to the lense. The alchohol, (and hopefully the dirt),should instantly sponge up into the dry swab, then assemble and try unit. If all this fails, the laser has likely failed, and must be replaced & aligned by a competant repair shop.

  • That particular disc may be dirty, scratched, or defective . Try with other disc .
  • Chance of dirty or damaged objective lens.
  • Also you need to check for any bad connections or defective ribbon cable to optical pickup.

My cd-carnegie has no money changer, it is on free play. It won't allow me to play selections any more.

Possibly the battery is dead in the control unit. When the memory is lost, free play is too. You will need to locate and replace the battery, then re-program. For that you will most likely need the manual. You will have no problem finding a manual on line.

I have an NSM Performer Grand. The title cards won't move (rotate, whatever) When you press the rocker switch on the front which is supposed to rotate to the next cards you get "Error 90"...

Normally that problem is because a card is jammed.

(The Manual will tell you only that Code 90 means the title display isn't functioning, which of course you already know)

Open up the title card box and start removing the holders until you find one that's askew. Normally, for reasons which I don't understand, you end up taking them all out but sometimes you can just yank a few and it will start working again.

Note however that the logic chip will not reset just because the problem is fixed. You have to shut it down (like a balky computer) and then turn it back on. If the problem is cleared it will reset the code and you're good to go.

I have just installed the remote conrol kit in my 1015. Selection and volume controls working okay on remote. Not able to make selection from buttons on jukebox - does remote overide this function? ...

Sounds like you have put the cables in the wrong place. Put the keyboard cable back as it was and test to see if the keyboard works.
The mysterious "power" button does nothing unless you have a kit that it activates which turns the power off.

Disc player picks up CDs, puts them down, they spin and then it picks them back up without playing them.

In my experience this is usually a problem with the CD player or the CD control unit. I have had this problem with my Wurlitzer CD Carnegie and I solved it by simply taking a Q-tip, moistening it with rubbing alcohol and lightly rubbing it on the CD player's laser lens and then using the other side of the Q-tip to dry it. Over time dust and dirt can build up on the lens causing read errors, which in turn cause the jukebox to reject the CD. If that does not help, I would suggest looking into replacing the CD player or the CD control unit.

I have a wurlitzer cd-carnegie jukebox and want to know can and how to add extra speakers ?

Speakers are connected to the output transformer assembly. It is a unit with two transformers and many screw terminals. There is a big red L on one transformer and a big red R on the other. If you don't have a manual, I can email you the connection diagram for the output transformer assembly. Please email me, tech@wurlitzer-ohio.com.

Skipping yamaha 765

I have a very similar type unit, a Nakamichi CDC-3 that had the same problem. I found this link....

http://repairfaq.ece.drexel.edu/REPAIR/F_cdfaq6.html#CDFAQ_001

I spent about two hours fixing mine. The sled mechanism was binding somehow, causing random skipping. The first 10 minutes was getting it apart and figuring what was wrong, the remainder was spent getting all those tiny parts back in the proper place.

Look up the exact symptom before going at it (probably long skips). Set aside a long slow lazy day with nothing to do. DO NOT drink too much coffee, you will be handling tiny parts that go in tedious locations, so you don't need caffeine jitters adding to your misery. Take your time and be careful. It's well worth it. Mine plays like a new one.
