Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Picture seem larger than screen

Can only see partial guide at the top of the screen and same at the bottom. For instance, the scores that run along the bottom of screen on espn. It was fine when I turned it off and the next morning I turned it on, it was like that.

I had that very issue, cut off at the top and bottom and pushed to the left. This was after changing to HDTV, standard works fine but when I hook up my HDTV satellite receiver the screen gets pushed to the left and it's cut off on the top and bottom, the guide too.

Try this change the format by pushing the left or right buttons on remote.. you might want to consider turning off autoformat in setup

Press setup on your foxtel remote, go to systems settings, and look for "TV Type" menu, you can change settings there, your TV is a 4.3 (square) not widescreen. Its not a telly problem your just giving it the wrong signal.

Picture too big for the screen

If you are using any type of set top box weather it is a cable box or something along those lines, You are out of luck. The formating is controlled in whatever box is connected to tv. So to format the screen size keep this in mind. Cableboxes usually only let you adjust for 1080i and widescreen. But aspect is subjective to how they send the signal to you. Also make sure you hookup a HDTV cable box or I recommend Dish Network to this set because it is easy to operate the formating using the button on bottom left of remote. " * " STAR button is great. ALSO the DVR is larger and you can run the 2nd TV off the same box although it is Standard defination, the 2nd remote is very handy because it talks to the box via RF signals, which means no IR or line of site problems. Its awesome. If i can help you further. don't hesitate to email back. Thank you and have a good night. Jay
