If you purchase a game that requires certain video requirements, you either have to take the game back, or purchase the new video card. Sorry, but those are the evils of the software vs. hardware world. Software gets more advanced, then it becomes quite expensive for the end user.

It may be too memory intensive for your card. Try turning your performance setting down in the game options.

The graphic card usually crashes due to over heating. Keep the gpu cool. you may use a pedestal fan as well.

Graphics card upgrade on Acer Extensa 5230E-901G16Mn laptop

Unfortunately, laptops are generally locked down in terms of graphics cards. The GPU is integrated into the laptop mainboard due to space constraints.

Your only option if tied down to a laptop for any reason would be to purchase a more recent laptop with a specific graphics card in it.

Any discrete (NVIDIA or ATI) graphics card that was manufactured after 2008 should be sufficient to run most games.

If you're looking to play games on more intense graphic settings, your best bet would be to look for laptops with the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M/240M or better, or the ATI Mobility Radeon 4600/5400 or better. Either brand with at least 512 MB of video RAM will work well.

Unable to play the PC game Crysis

AlanChong20, update you're video casr software. The radeon 9200 last update is listed at this link.
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeon-prer300-xp.html
The date for the upgrade is Nov. 15, 2006 No more driver update are being made.
If you're game still gives you the same error try lowering the game graphics detail settings. If set to high, bring them down to medium. It very possible you're card does not have enough memory to play the game. The 9200 is a older card. It may be time to upgrade.
