I have had this camera for over a year. Recently my computer broke down and I tried to download my pictures in my friend's laptop. This was the first time I have done this. After putting the USB cable in the laptop, I turned it on and I got a message in the camera screen "system error" and a number 1 over a zero. I tried turning it off and back on, remove the batteries, change the memory card and I still get the same message. Please help! I really hope it is nothing serious.

When attempting to turn camera on the screen shows "system error 10". Changing batteries did not solve the roblem.

I tried plugging my camera into my laptop but the batteries died and i couldnt get my camera to turn off so I unplugged it from the computer and ever since then its saying I have a device malfunction and cannot plug it into my laptop to upload my photos.

I have the same problem - connected the camera through the USB in order to download some pics, then I got the error msg."SYSTEM ERROR 1 0". I contacted NIKON official distributer in ISRAEL, and they said that the main board is at fault, and it doesn not worth fixing. However, they proposed me to buy a newer model (Collpix p60) with 10% discount.
Nikon should RECALL all those cameras! I'll never buy another camera from them!

i don't know what this means- it's more an error in the laptop I would think
Can you still see images via the review control in the camera?
