Question about Mitsubishi WD-65000 65" Rear Projection Television

Vertical line splitting screen

I have full picture that displays okay, but I have a line going strait down the center of the screen that is about 3/8 inch wide. The line flickers with part of the line syncing into picture at times and sometimes the line is solid making the picture look like two windows. I do have a technical backgroud in electronic equipment and would like to fix this problem myself. Any assistence to guide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Lynn

    Joe,
The first thing I wanted to do was to order a technical manual from Mitsubishi and get the phone number for ordering replacement parts.
To my amazement, the customer service contact told no and that my only option is to contact a Mitsubishi servicer.
I can't believe they are telling me I am not entitled to fix my own TV.

I will try to talk to them one more time, asking to speak to a manager. If I am turned down one more time, I will consider legal action. Thanks for your advisements. -Lynn

Your tv has a trouble in vertical synchronization circuits. the symptom is characterised by the continuous or intermittent upward or downward rolling of the picture on the screen. this symptom is caused by a trouble in the integrated circuit or in the vertical oscillator circuit. good luck!

We have had issues like this that ended up being the digital convergence module. There are surface mount electrolytics that suffer from dielectric absorbtion (dry out) and they must be replaced. It's much easier to replace the module than to repair it, the convergence will need to be reset once this is done. If you have the original remote control you can gain access to the service menu to reset the digital convergence. Joe Weibel

    Lynn,

I would not readily replace the convergence module without checking the filters first, this may not be the issue and because of the expense involved I would want to be sure. If the problem changes as the set heats up, it generally indicates a filter (capacitor) or filters have gone bad.
If you're trying to troubleshoot the set yourself, use a can of freeze spray to cool the suspected filters on an individual bases, the guilty capacitor will react very quickly to the temperature change.
    Have a nice day!

My crt acer ac512 monitar only centre line view,c"not full view why?

there are several reasons why picture of crt monitors did not display good picture. if your monitor had horizontal line at the center of the screen?...the faulty is in the vertical deflection, check the vertical oscillator also the fusible resistors & capacitors around that section. if there had vertical line at the center of the screen?..check the horizontal deflection, horizontal output transistor also check the YOKE.

Picture size

I found the user manual online, and the pictures in it are really helpful and make this make a lot more sense, but:
1. Press [SCREEN MODE], to switch the TV aspect ratio.
2. Press [SCREEN MODE] repeatedly until the normal screen displays.
NOTE: • Some programs may not offer all display mode options.
4:3 Programming
[Sidebar] Sidebar displays a 4:3 picture at its standard 4:3 size. Sidebars will be displayed on the right and left edges of the screen.
[Full] Full displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 4:3 picture at a 16:9 size, with less horizontal elongation necessary to fill the screen because a little bit of the top and bottom edge of the screen will be cut off.
[Wide] Wide displays the center of the picture as original size and the outer sides of the picture will be elongated. The size of the picture will depend on the original signal.
16:9 Programming
[Full] A picture is displayed at 16:9 size as it is.
[Zoom] Zoom displays a 16:9 picture without changing its horizontal and vertical ratio, at its maximum size.
[Cinema] Cinema displays a 16:9 picture with vertical elongation.
[Expand] Expand displays a 16:9 picture with horizontal elongation

Sounds like a panel defect. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Averatec 4100 series white line on screen

Okay go to: Flexcode.org/lcd.html
Once there select toggle full screen, then try 2nd method. Click on ( go full screen now) Let this run for 30mins. to an hour. Keep on full screen.
Your labtop screen pixel can be stuck on that color. This should help it go back to normal. If not, I have another method. Try this one out first.
*NOTE* Do not try the Pressure Method or Tapping Method.

Picture shows only about a 2-3" blue, green,or red vertical line down the middle

If your seeing vertical line across the screen you need to check the components in the vertical stage as well as the vertical IC could be bad, or the yoke could open.
Also check if any voltage reaching the vertical stage.

Good luck.
