Asus K8V SE Deluxe - will not turn on

Just installed Asus K8V SE Deluxe with AMD 3000+ 64 and 3 GB RAM. Getting power to the MB but ATX Power switch seems useless - system will not start. ATX Power and ATX 12V 4Pin connected. When Power Supply is switched on system fans spin up and the SB_PWR LED lights. Pressing the Power Switch has no effect. Cleared RTC RAM, rechecked panel connections. Power supply is new Antec 850 Quattro but old Power Supply had the same result. Wiring for panel switches ok - worked fine with the ASUS A7V just pulled out.

good suggestions but neither one worked, replaced bios chip with new and problem continues......

Tried to boot from cdrom but no devices other than fans will spin up. thinking i may have a fried power switch circuit - ohmed out and got nothing where other motherboards give a reading on the power switch circuit

Asus x58l wont start-up, when I switch on my laptop, all the normal lights blinks up, fan and dvd-rom starts normally, but there is no display. there is a continuous sleep (Z) light which blinks and stays on.
I have change battery/AC, Ram/hard disk, but it doesn't help.
    thank you.

I just want to know whether SATA 1TB hdd support Asus K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard or not? and also i want to use 512 MB grafix card. can both things support to this motherboard?

Yes as long as there are SATA ports on the motherboard it will work fine.
You will need to find out if your graphics card is pci-e or agp and make sure it matches the motherboard.

Can windows 7 be installed on asus k8v-mx mb with amd sempron 2.4 1gb ddr1ram

this is the minimum spec for Windows 7:

  • Processor: 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • Memory: 1 GB of system memory
  • Hard drive: 16 GB of available disk space
  • Video card: Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128MB memory (in order to enable Aero theme)
  • Drive: DVD-R/W drive
  • Internet connection (to download the Beta and get updates)
Its not the motherboard, its the processor speed, RAM size, and hard drive space, and video card capability that counts.Your processor speed well meets this criteria and also your RAM size is within spec for Windows 7, and im sure you will have in excess of 16GiG hard drive space. So its all down to your video card. You may need to install DirectX 9.Hope this helps :)

No signal on monitor

You might try switching the VGA cable if you haven't. If that doesn't work then I'd agree with you in saying the motherboard is likely fried.

New build computer wont turn on (ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939)

The ATX power supply needs to have pin16(PS_On#) to be connected to COM for it to work. When you press the power switch on the front panel of the computer, you are essentially making this connection. Check that the cable from the power supply to the motherboard is making good connection. You can verify operation of the power supply by shorting Pin16 to pin17 on the powersupply output, with a paper clip. Pin16 is usually a green wire and 17 is black. Hope this helps. -Vish
