Question about Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook
I have a Compaq Presario 700 laptop. Today, my computer froze, so I shut it down. As I said, it was frozen, so i had to use the ctrl+alt+del function. It restarted, but it came to a screen that i dont really understand, something about one of the drives, but it seemed to be fixing itself, you know, running through some function that would make it work, the process had three stages, and was on the third stage when someone, trying to be helpful i guess, tried just shutting it off and turning it back on, now it wont boot up at all, it turns on, then tries to load, goes to a screen that asks how i want to start the computer, then when i choose one, it starts to boot up, then ends up back at the same screen, saying that windows was not successful, The version of windows that i have is windows xp...i have no idea what is going on, but i could really use some help!
In that situation, try to boot it in SAFE MODE. You get into this by pressing F8 during boot up. The menu will come up and you choose the mode you want. While in safe mode you will have to try and use system restore to go back to when the computer was working. It's like PC time travel.
