It's an ancient monitor. You may have a new computer with a different kind of connector. That monitor uses a VGA connector. Your computer probably has a DVI connector.

You have three components which could be faulty: Computer, cable and monitor. Replace them one by one until you find out which one is giving you trouble:
  1. Hook up a portable computer to the monitor, using the same cable
  2. Same thing, only with a friend's cable that is known to work
  3. Try using the cable to hook up a friend's computer and monitor
  4. Take your monitor to your friend's house and see whether it works there
  5. Try using any other source of image, check the back of your monitor to learn what else you can plug, other than a computer
Each combination you try will give you more information, until you have enough data to isolate the problem. It *could* be that your computer's resolution is not supported by the monitor, but I doubt it.

I need a owners manual for a samsung 931c lcd monitor

Hi,

You can download the required manual from:

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Samsung-931C-Monitors-manual/id/904ci275/t/2/

On the page which opens, click on the GET MANUAL button and follow the instructions on the next page to download the manual.

You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your PC to view this manual. If it is not already installed on your PC, download it free from:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.

Check that the cable is firmly and fully inserted into the monitor port on the back of your PC. If you have two video cards installed, use the first one. Try replacing your video card.

I just bought a new monitor and can't get it to work with my laptop-monitor says going to sleep

You should check your owners manual for instructions on how to hook up your laptop to a monitor and do the same with the monitor manual on how to hook it up to a laptop computer. If this does not help, you may need to make a call to technical services for assistance. Hope this helps you with your problem.

Samsung T220 monitor hook up to new macbookpro-how-pc driver only-help

Hello,

I think you're using the adapter in reverse. The adapter that changes from VGA to DVI but not the other way. You should plug the adapter into the DVI out on the macbook and then plug the VGA end of the cable into the monitor. If the monitor has a DVI input then you should be using a DVI to DVI cable to hook it up.

Once you have the cable plugged in you'll need to enable dual monitors or switch to external monitor on your macbook. Don't worry about the driver's cd, they are not necessary to make the monitor work on your mac (or on a PC for that matter).

There are two great instructions on how to do this, just google for "macbook switch to external monitor"

One here.

Second one here.
