There are 2 types of correction tapes, a sticky type and a non sticky type. The sticky type is for the IBM selectric series. If you have print wheel, you need the non sticky type. Touch the tape and see if it sticks to your finger, if it does, you have the wrong tape.
I'm guessing you have a Wheelwriter not a memory writer 50..
Try a little WD40 on the ribbon feed motor and feed mech just under the R. rear of the ribbon deck. Also check the plug to that motor I have had them come out. If these don't work revove the ribbon, mark the black gear that feeds the ribbon with a dab of white out and see if it turns. If not you will need a tech.
