7 year old white ceramic cooktop stained

Have always cleaned it with Ceramabryte. Cleaned perfectly until about a month ago. Now it has some cloudy stains on the burner that will not come out. It is white so it shows up. Product listed below is not what I have, it is the only thing I could find that would allow me to ask a question.

Used baking soda and a scruuby to clean stubborn stain off my ceramic cooktop Must have used to much pressure now if is cloudy in the center and feels like sandpaper. Is there a way to fix it?

Or maybe you just added to what was stuck on there.

Use a good ceramic cooktop cleaner or a water/vinegar mix AND a razor blade scraper.

I have found that the only way to get EVERYTHING off the cooktop is to use the razorblade scraper. You may not be able to see it or even feel it with your fingers but there is burnt stuff on there and it takes some work to get it off.

Hi, We have MAYTAG schott ceran flexchoice glass cooking top. Even after cleaning it with a ceramic glass top cleaner, stains are remaining on it. Can u please suggest what is the best way to clean it .

Sudha3025 -
Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your cooktop clean.
You mention you are using a glass-ceramic cleaner but I would also suggest scrapping the stains with a NEW metal razor scraper. A cooktop scraper is similar to one you would use to scrape paint off your windowpanes at home and you can typically find them at a hardware store. The razor won't damage the surface like other abrasive sponges might. For best results, hold the scraper at approximately a 30 degree angle to the cooktop and protect your hands by wearing an oven mitt.
Also try using a Wieman sponge in conjunction with the cleaner on those stubborn stains.
As always, try to clean up spills, especially sugary ones, immediately when they happen, or get them away from the hot burner area and clean after every use.
Hope this is helpful!

Hi, I have a wonderful Maytag speckled black smooth top stove. Over Christmas someone caused a big (2 " diameter) stain. I've tried everything to get it out. is it possible to have a new ceramic...

Ceramic cooktop cleaning tips - especially for 2-in difficult-to-remove stain:
Best Idea: "Cerama Bryte" + plastic scrubbie
Cerama Bryte is specifically designed for this cooktop, works on stains, avail at Hardware Stores.

Other ceramic cooktop tips:
1. "Soft Scrub" plasic scrubbie
2. Comet cleanser + sponge
3. Single-edge razor blade held at 45-degree angle - scrapes off material
4. "Cook Top" cleaner (WalMart) + Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" abrasive pad
5. baking soda on damp sponge
6. soak stain for awhile with Formula 409, Fantastic, or citrus degreaser ("Orange Clean")
7. ammonia + water - in a 1:1 solution
8. Easy Off oven cleaner - it foams on the stain and does the work for you - let it sit 20 min.
9. the nuclear option:
Cerama Bryte under a plastic scrubbie under an orbital sander with sandpaper removed
(just the pad down on top of the scrubbie), after pre-soaking in Citrus Degreaser.
The sander is a power tool which only saves your joints, and speeds up the chore.

WHAT DO I USE TO CLEAN AN ELECTRIC JENN-AIR CERAMIC COOKTOP; THE BURNT FOOD BUILDUP.

a good product is CERAMABRYTE. it is designed for ceramic cooktops and is a white lotion type cleaner. if there is a lot of burned buildup you may also need to purchase a special scraper with a blade in it. but make sure you smear the cleanser on FIRST or you will scratch the surface.

One burner requires a match to light

had same problem. Used fine sandpaper on the little head (just above the white ceramic) that creates the spark. over the years the edges of the littel metal ring had gummed up but a 1 min sanding got it down to shinny metal and it sparked nicely.
