Question about Abit NV8 (890552603459) Motherboard

1 Answer

I have an Abit NV8 and it keeps giving me a blue screen and does a reboot but it does not really reboot. I hit escape on the blue screen and it goes back to the desktop. In the event logs it is giving me an error with my tuner card but when I remove it it is still behaving the same. the blue screen comes after sitting for about 5 to 10 minutes then goes into a constant loop with different driver errors everytime until I hit escape then it takes 5 minutes or so to start again. It seems to me that it is some kind of virus but my virus checkers do not detect any issues. I do have a green LED and a red LED lit on the mother board. any help?

My acer laptop keeps rebooting giving me a blue error screen. Don't have disk that came with it what can i do?

If you receive the Blue Screen, that means the Laptop is having a trouble with
  • Operating System/ Sub System failure
  • Software Device/Application Failure
  • RAM
  • Hard Drive
You have to include the BSOD message. Please do it next time so that I can give a more appropriate answer.
If the blue screen doesn't remain, here is what you have to do to Disable the Automatic Restarting.
  • When the system boots you have to go to the Operating System Menu.
  • Most PCs and LAPs has the Default key "F8" or "F11". Check the keys and hit until you are directed to an Operating System Choice menu.
  • Select "Disable Automatic Restart on a System Failure" and Hit Enter.
Include the BSOD message in the Next Comment

You can look at the battery to see what one you need. I think most modern boards require a CR 2032, but check yours just to be sure.

System reboots

Blue screen usually means memory problem or critical hardware conflict. You could have a damaged memory module, or dust might be on the way of the memory.

Need help

if you have more than 1 device on the ribbon cable, make sure they are both on CS(cable select) or one is on master and one is on slave.

Next disconnect all the drives from the board and just hit the del key to enter the BIOS. Select advanced tab to make sure SATA is active, otherwise you will bypass any sata and go only to ide channels.

Once the sata is active, check boot sequence and select CD/DVD as 1st boot priority save and exit, on the reboot turn unit off and attach all cables to the board. Reboot.
