Re: HP 2015 printer has a constant paper jam light
Your printer has a long history of problems with its formatters. Apparently you may be able to download updates, but they don't always work. You may have to replace it. There are sticky cleaning sheets of paper that clean paper dust off the rollers and the paper pathway in the printer. You can obtain these cleaning sheets from a paper supply outlet. Also inspect the rollers for a torn corner of a paper that is stuck in the paper pathway that may cause a new sheet of paper to feed in crooked.
Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A
printer will jam for any number of reasons: It's dirty, the wrong paper
type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper
through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer
periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, if the problem still persist after all this, replace the roller.
FLOWO THE STEPS 1.1 Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands or metal tools inside the chassis. 2.Step 2 Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray. 3.Step 3 Take off the front paper tray if the sheet got stuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammed here, you should be able to see most of the paper. 4.Step 4 Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine. 5.Step 5 Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine. 6.Step 6 Use the carriage access door to reach a jam further inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to clear the jam. 7.Step 7 Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.
could actually be the paper your using. make sure your using at the very least multipurpose paper or laser paper. check to make sure your settings for paper is also set to regular paper and not cardstock or special paper or anything else
There is a problem with the HP 2015 printer. The symptoms you describe are a common fault requiring the printer to be returned to the HP repair centre.
Out of a batch of 40 2015 printers, we have had to return 9 so far for the same problem. 2 of the 9 have been back twice... The printers come back with new MAC addresses and this suggests that the main motherboard is being changed.
Managed to solve this myself: I disassembled the printer and noticed there was a paper jammed in the duplex tray. Rolls were all ok, but the paper blocked the use of the duplex pathway. For disassembly help check the HP 1320 service manual, which you can find on the net as a PDF.
