Display Problems - Static-like flickering with...

posted by Hags888 on Feb 11, 2007

Recently the image display on my Optiquest monitor started having problems. I have no idea what the issue is, and the visual problem is difficult to put into words. Basically the image quality when down the drain and it is having trouble displaying the colors properly. It's almost as if the image is all static-y with these weird points of light all over the screen, especially surrounding text.

The problem just started happening on its own. I didn't change any of the display settings. I have tried the following things to fix it and nothing has worked:

-Updating graphics card driver
-Restarting/Unplugging computer
-Unplugging/cleaning monitor connection to computer
-Leaving the monitor off for several days
-Changing the display settings manually

Any ideas? Do I need to contact the manufacturer and get it repaired?
I have the same problem.

It didn't get moved closer to something else that could generate an electro-magnetic field, did it?
