ok is the set completlely dead. DOEs the Led on the front flash. if it does not flash this is an indication of a primary power interuption. POSSIbley main fuse. Now generally the main fuse does not blow unless there something else wrong. some other component shorted. Now if the light flashes then this is an indication that the main fuse is still good and that the processor is getting power and that it has detected a condition that requires it to shut down. ussaly a high voltage issue
first question does any lights on front panel come on does the green light flash.... if so then i will not be the fuse... otherwise just follow the main power cord back into the set to the back cuircit board behind the green board.
If the fuses are good and the on indicator lights you could have a short in the power supply, the high voltage section or just about any part of the circuitry. The most common problem is the high voltage. If you know TV safety and how to check transistors, unplug the unit and check the horizontal output transistor. If it is shorted replace the transistor, flyback and HV divider. If this does not solve the problem you will probably need a repair tech as this symptom could be a short anywhere in the unit. Good luck and remember to be safe.
