Line on playback of vhs c tapes

When I play back vhs c tapes I get lines through picture. Too many lines to bother watching. when in fast forward play most lines go away.I would like to have these put on vhs or dvd but not unless they could be cleaned up. Videos of my son as baby so they are important. They have been kept clean dry ,and warm. Any ideas as where to take them or what I might do? Thank you in advance.

You should play them through a different machine. Your video heads are dirty. You can get a head cleaned and this will work. It is probably not your tapes if they were kept clean.I hope this helps.

Blaupunkt camcorder video 8 no picture on playback

Your heads are still dirty, You need to hold a piece of white photocopy paper against the heads and rub it to clean the dirt off. Don't use anything soft as it catches on the head and can cause damage.

Sounds video head is dirty / clogged.
Use good quality video-8 head cleaning tape for head cleaning in DCR-TRV530 and then record and playback it.

Help!! No playback!!

First try a cleaning tape, if that doesnt work it most likely the tape path is out of alignment and you will have to send it in for repair.

No playback

Even though my husband cleaned the head with a q-tip and alcohol, I decided to purchase a cleaning tape. I popped it in and it worked in less than 15 seconds! It was expensive, $18, but not nearly expensive as a new camera!

Cannot play tape.

Sometimes that happens to me too. What I do is just push play, then fast forward, and normally if you watch it, the picture starts to come back. Just keep fast forwarding until you can see all of the picture, and you should be fine.

No playback on DCR-TRV103

In playback mode the lCD displays the battery time, hi8 symbol and the tape counter. all the functions work the tape will play, rewind, fast forward. The screen stays blank on playback and the tape counter stays at 0:00:00 eventhough I can see the tape turning. I also hooke the camera to my tv and I got no picture.

Transferring camcorder tapes to VHS

It depends on what speed these tapes were first recorded on. Maybe the camcorder your trying to use to play them back do not support this tape speed I have seen this in the past. Are these 8-MM or VHS-C tapes.. Also the tapes that were recored, maybe tyhere was something wrong with the tape path and was slightly out of alighnment. I had once a Sony 8-MM camcorder and tapes a lot of stuff and then gave them to someone to watch and they would not play. I tryed the tapes again in my camcorder and they worked great. I got a test tape and tryed it in my camcorder and it turned out the tape path alighnment was off, so i had to rerecord everything I had from one camcorder to DVD so i could fix my camcorder. Good Luck
