What printer? do you have labelling software installed? or are you using just standard word processing?
you may want to get avery label software. it's specifically used for those types of uses (though you don't need to use their labels as long as the labels are using a similar layout).
you can find the software at most office supplies.

if you want to use something free try

Hello,

Please verify the following:
- Driver: If you are using the standard printer driver, maybe you want to try another driver(Download an excellent driver at www.nicelabel.cl, searching by your brand and model name).
When installed, you should go to advanced settings and use the callibrate options.
- Software: Maybe your software has a configuration and the driver has another, set the same length for both and verify if the problem persists.
- Sensor: If the sensor has an issue, then you should try contacting a local reseller or partner for zebra. If that's the case, you probably will have to repair the printer($) or definitively replace it for another($$). Since it's a desktop printer, check your warranty first and maybe you are covered.

Everytime I try to print lables, it prints one or part of one and then stops and the red light comes on. I've tried restarting it, turning it on and off. What is the problem?

press the botton 2 times to run calibration, if not work, press button untill flash 7 times, if not work, chek the setings from driver (if use labels with gaps, use non-continues) (if use ribbon, use Termal Transfer) chech the settings (sensor ir on GAP/Web)

I have a BROTHER MFC-8480DN all in one printer which I just purchased. My avery lables do not work right as the first 2 rows are okay and then the text does not fit right on the following labels. I use it...

Lables are slick some time the feed rollers will slide on them. Try to find lables that are course with no shine on them . The rubber that the tires are made of is of poor quality. Just dont have the grip . Hope this helps

Turn off the printer and place your finger on the green feed button. With the button depressed, turn the printer back on. Let the light flash2.gif (ONLY!) four times and release the button. Printer will cycle through 2-3 labels. Press the feed button one more time.
You've just set the printer back to factory default.

The physical label size must be set in the printer driver, both in the "Properties" and the "Default" tabs.

Printing Labels

The MPF is simply the "Manual Paper Feed".
Your printer is set by default that the MPF paper type is "plain paper". Since you are telling the printer that you are trying to print lables, the printer is simply telling you that you need to load the MPF with lables.

If you say "ok", the printer sould continue and print the lables.

If you only print lables, the you can change the default paper for the MPF tray to "lables", and then you will no longer be prompted to load the tray.

Set up

May be your problems can be solved doing a calibration. To do this, turn off the printer, press the feed key and turn on the printer. When the led flashes in red quickly release the feed key, the printer will start to calibrate and after the calibration will feed one label.

It is explained in the user manual.

Printing Round Labels

the issue sounds inpart to be related the set lable length, the printer thinks that the data will not fit on the label and gives the error. also note that the gap sensor is not in the center so the printer will not and can not autodetect the media correctly. you need to tweak the label setup. you could trick the printer by centering the labels over the gap sensor or if you do a autocalibating use the lable size it give you which would be much smaller then 17mm
