Problems with R4 card for Nintendo DS lite

If have just purchased an R4 card for my DS, i have an microSD card for it aswell. but when i put the card in my console it comes up with a black screen with loading... on it and stays like that and goes no further.

do i need to put a program on the card before it can run or is there something else that could be at fault?

cheers

I have a R4 card with 4 GB micro SD and when I turn it on earlier
it changed to a red background instead of the dark one & now when it turns on it says Loading... and never loads!

Is there something wrong with my DS or my R4 card?

I`ve dropped my DS twice.Did it damage it?

Yes you have to prepare your R4 before load it in your DS...
there are a lot´s of aplication and homebrew for DS that you can download in the web...
emulator, for genesis, nes, SNES, sega master system, and even NEO GEO MVS.
try to download a DS Pack torrent with everything!
and install in the R4...Good Luck!

SOURCE: Problems with R4 card for Nintendo DS lite

Hello you need to put software onto the card first otherwise there's nothing for the r4 to load. There's a great tutorial on http://www.dscardworld.com with pictures and links to all the official software.

If you suspect that you have unstable fake clone version you can get a genuine card there too. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few

others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it.

Best of luck!

Your problem is not related to your DSlite, but with your R4. Somehow you managed to delete the R4 firmware from the microSD card.

DS doens't recoginize R4 card in my sons DS Lite. My other sons DS does recoginize the R4 card. Why? how can I get the card to work in both DS Lites.

Make sure you bought the correct R4 for the DS light and not the DSi. If you bought the correct one, then it sounds like the R4 cartridge is defective and needs to be exchanged for another one. Remember, Nintendo does not support the R4 cartridge, so go back to where you purchased it from.

How to play music and movie on my nds lite.

In order to get movies for your Nintendo DS, you must first purchase a kit which includes: USB cord with a microSD card slot, a 512 MB memory card, and an adaptor that fits into the DS cartridge slot. This hardware package is available from DSvision for only about $37, and it will be available in 2008.

Once you have the hardware package, you can begin downloading movies at the DSvision website from your computer, and then transferring those movies to your DS with the hardware. One downfall is that you can't download movies using the DS Lite's Wi-Fi capabilities, although this may be something to look for in the future from Nintendo and DSvision.

Upon launch, there will only be about 300 movie titles available for download, but they hope to increase that number to 10,000 within two years. You will also be able to download TV shows and e-books as well.

NDS not recognising R4 but will still play DS game cartridges.

Is your DS a DS Lite? If it is, open up your R4. Fold up a piece of paper and put it right behind the gold contacts (on the side facing away from the DS). Close it all up and it should work.

Nintendo ds

Hello there,

Unfortunately, this is a common problem to do with the actual contacts on the back of your R4 card. A small minority of Nintendo DS Lite units have the contacts points set SLIGHTLY further back, meaning the contact is bad.

Try experimenting by putting a folded piece of paper in-between the R4 card and the red Nintendo DS Lite when you play it, and notice that it should play now. You can permanently wedge a small piece of paper inside the R4 card itself by carefully taking off the cover, putting the paper in, and putting the cover back. This ought to solve your problem.

If you are looking for a reliable place to buy DS and DSi cards from that will stock originals, I'd recommend using http://www.NDS-Gear.com (I've used them myself). They test every card before sending which means you won't receive dud cards, and more importantly they have support before AND after your purchase by people who reply very quickly and in perfect English. Some of these dodgy websites take 4-6 weeks to deliver and never answer e-mails, so I'm glad these guys are different. Oh, and they guarantee to dispatch by the next working day, which always helps with speed and all. And they're recommended by a lot of the DS card help sites, too.

Best of luck!
