Lexmark x3430 disassembly instructions

Printer jammed with too much paper and when it was removed, there was a thin transparent brown "strap" that came unattached from the print carriage. i need to know where to reinstall it and the lexmark x3430 disassembly instructions will be most useful to do this. the unit is already disassembled, i just need a picture or guidance to put the part in and stop the cartridge from slamming from side-to-side in error mode...

How do i fix my LEXMARK X3430?

Leading cause of paper jams is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
  3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
  4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
  6. Close the printer cover.
  7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
  8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, try to re-seat the cartridges by removing and re-inserting them into the printer. Make sure they are properly seated and secured.
I hope this helps.

Carrier Jam, there's nothing in it, I put new cartridge in still saids carrier jam, other then that this thin strip came out

The thin strip could be the encoder strip (transparent strip) which is responsible for the proper movement of the cartridge carrier along the carrier assembly. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

LexMark x3430 printer

Hi,
Here is a guide of all possible paper jam locations on the X340 printer. http://bit.ly/cS4lpm
If still no paper is found on any of those places then the printer has a faulty sensor. Depending on the paper jam numeric error is the sensor that may be failing.

Try forcing a sheet of paper or thin cardboard through the paper path in the direction the paper feeds. This may push out the jam so you can reach it.

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence
