Normally, You can scan from scanner or your computer. Either way, you will have to save it onto your computer. If you hit the scan button, it should pull up the scan software for you, with options and preferences for you to choose from. If this is just for records/storage purposes, just choose the default settings and save it under a name and location you will remember. Hit scan and you should be good to go...

I have a lexmark 2600 all in one machine. How do I scan more than 1 page at a time?

This photocopier can only copy 1 page at a time. This is due to only being able to place one sheet on the viewing surface per scan.

To make a scan follow these instructions:

  1. Open lid and put the document or photo face down
  2. Close the lid to press the document flat and avoid dark edges
  3. Have the printer connected to the computer and both turned on
  4. Press the scan icon on the printer
  5. Follow onscreen instructions
  6. Repeat for each document needing to be scanned

How do i scan on my brother copier?

Scanning is a standard all-in-one printer feature that converts a hard-copy document into electronic information, which your computer can store and modify. You can scan legal files, office reports or just about any other kind of document and create an electronic backup for your files, send it as email or alter it to suit your needs. Follow these steps to scan a document on an all-in-one printer:

1. Turn on your all-in-one printer and computer. Check the connections between the two machines.

2. Lift the printer's document lid. Examine the scanning surface and the underside of the lid for dust and fingerprints.

3. Put the document you wish to scan face-down on the glass. Use the alignment markers to help you square up the object. These are usually found on the left-hand edge of the scanning area.

4. Close the printer's document lid slowly so the document does not shift position.

5. Select a scan resolution. The higher the dpi (dots per inch) count, the sharper and more detailed the image.

6. Push the scan button. You may have to do this on the printer itself or on your computer.

7. Check the preview of your scan on your computer. Depending on your all-in-one printer and software, you may have to prompt your computer to display the preview for you.

8. Edit the image as it appears on your computer if you want to make changes. Your scanning software might let you enlarge, resize or otherwise manipulate the final product.

9. Accept the scan and save. Return the original document to a safe location.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

Use of Scanner

On this model there is a SCAN in black and white or color buttons but you need to have something on the glass to scan. Once it scans it prints!!!

Now lexmark software if installed comes with a program to scan with. you need to check under your prgrams folder under lexmark for the scanning software that was installed with the print driver.

If you open the lid and you do not see the white light chances are your scanner has and needs a bulb inside and at the point to install one of these you might want to concider a new printer.

Please be considerate and leave your feedback and comments and ratings before you leave, Thanks

How do I scan a pic from printer to computer?

Things You'll Need:
  • Computer
  • All-in-one printer
  1. Step 1 Blow the dust from your scanner and printing area with canned air. Clean the scanner bed and the underside of the document lid with a damp, lint-free cloth before scanning.
  2. Step 2 Get your computer and all-in-one printer turned on and talking to each other. Open the scanning software on your computer if needed. If not, you can use the controls on your printer to run the show.
  3. Step 3 Lay the picture to be scanned face-down on the glass. Square up the photo using the guides that are usually located along the edges of the scanning bed.
  4. Step 4 Close the lid.
  5. Step 5 Go for a higher dpi (dots per inch) count if you plan on displaying the scanned image at larger-than-life size. Otherwise, you can select a lower resolution.
  6. Step 6 Click the scan button on your computer's scanning software window. Some all-in-one printers need you to press the scan button on the printer itself; check the manual before using.
  7. Step 7 Get a preview of the scanned image up on your computer monitor. This might happen automatically depending on your software settings; if not, you will have to prompt your computer to display one.
  8. Step 8 Correct small defects such as red-eye in the image. Save extensive changes for later with dedicated photo-editing software.
  9. Step 9 Accept the scan and save to your hard drive. Remember to put your picture away.

Hp Photosmart c5280 1/ 2inch thick black line

There is something on your scanner glass. Clean the glass with glass cleaner. If this happens when using the automatic document feeder, open the top side cover where the paper feeds into. There is a narrow glass strip there. Clean that as well.

If this fails, the scanner head has a bad sector on the CCD and will need to be replaced. You will probably find that it will be cheaper to replace the printer entirely if that is the case.

I am trying to put a picture from my printer to my computer how do I do it.

To scan a picture into you computer, follow these steps below:
Follow the steps below to scan an image from the control panel:
1.
Lift the lid on the HP Desskjet F4180.
2.
Place the original on the glass with the side to be scanned facing the scanner glass and on the left front corner of the glass.
NOTE: For quality copies, ensure that the scanner glass is clean and that there are no foreign materials adhering to it.
3. Close the lid.
4. Press the Scan button located on the Printer. A preview image of the scan appears on the computer where it can be edited. The edits made apply to the current scan session only.
Make edits as desired to the preview image and click Accept .
NOTE: The Scan button does not work with the Windows 2000 operating system. The software CD contains drivers for Windows 2000 only and therefore has limited functions.
Cheers!

Canon printer MP470: I have never been able to use the OCR. Can you tell me how to click, click, click to do OCR? I go to MP Navigator/ One Click/ OCR/ then it says specify program where scanned...

Dear Tom,

No problem, you're a mere 17 steps away from creating a high-quality document using Canon's cutting-edge OCR software!

1. Load doc onto platen.

2. Press "SCAN" button.

3. Make sure "DOCUMENT" bar is yellow and press "OK" button.

4. Make sure "SCAN TO PC" button is yellow and press "OK" button.

5. Press "BLACK" button (w/ white diamond on it) located under the word "START" (might take a couple of tries as this button tends to stick a little.)

6. On computer screen, find image of doc that was just scanned and select it by clicking on little check box under image so a check appears. MAKE SURE NO OTHER DOCS ARE SELECTED AND/OR DE-SELECT THEM NOW.

7. On computer screen, find "double chevron" bar in lower left-hand corner and click on it.

8. Click on "EDIT/CONVERT."

9. Click on "CONVERT TO TEXT FILE."

10. This will bring up a new window. Click on the "blue arrow" with "1-2-3" next to it, located in upper left-hand corner of computer screen.

11. This will bring up a new window with three buttons to choose from. Click on the middle button, which says "PROCESS ALL UNRECOGNIZED PAGES"

12. This should start the OCR process and bring up a new window.

13. At this point, I just hit "CANCEL" and highlight & copy the OCR text by myself. (This will allow you to get around the "SPECIFY PROGRAM" program you referred to in your post.)

14. Then I open a new doc in Word (or whatever word processing program you use) and paste it directly into the new doc.

15. Then I save it into whatever folder I need to save it in.

16. Make sure to read through the doc and correct any OCR typos and/or "artifacts."

17. Save one more time to make sure you don't lose your work and you're done!

OPTIONAL 18th STEP: Open a beer and do a big bong hit -- you've earned it, soldier!
